I was told at an interview I was their favorite candidate of the day and they’d like to see me there next year... waitlisted (granted, i was OOS at WVU)

It makes you feel good, but don’t get caught up on it until you have an acceptance in your hands. That said, being told you have good communication skills would probably give me confidence in that area

I received similar praise at a couple of my interviews. Conversely, one of my interviews started out by saying "you certainly are the old applicant I've ever interviewed" lol. Another interviewer suggested that because their school was subsidized by the taxpayers (like all state schools) and that it would be at least 7 years before I would be an attending, that it might not actually be a good investment for the taxpayers to subsidize my medical application since the taxpayers would get less bang for their buck out of an old premed like me, lol. We will see in about a week how those interviews play into prematch 😀
