Because I'm Sooner born, I'm Sooner bred, and when I die I'll be Sooner dead.

Oregon State used that ? on their Supp app and then asked me the same question at the interview. I still have no idea why a degree from OSU would be any better than any other accredited school. My supp app pointed to environmental factors. Location, climate, family setting etc. At the interview I focused (sp?), though rather poorly, on faculty/student ratios/relationships/commitment. The supp app wasn't really BS. I have two kids and hate SoCal's smog, crime, etc. The interview I wasnt sure if they were looking for a recital of the supp app or something new. Instead of asking for clarity, I tried BS'ing. It wasn't pretty. Now I'm stuck deferred to regular applicant pool instead of ED. 👎

Among school that I applied, University of Appalachia, LECOM supplemental, Massachusett university college of pharmacy and health sciences required above question on their essay section.
What I wrote was that
1)University of Appalachia-I praised their unique goal serving in rural health care.
2)LECOM supplement-I praised their excellency in patient care.
3)Massachusett university college of pharmacy and health sciences -Massachusett has the second oldest pharmacy program. So, they serve good quality on both research and patient care. Also, they have good partnership with many universities in overseas.

I hope this can help you little bit.

What I did last year was to look at each school's website and read their mission statement, look at faculty bio's, take a look at any extra info they post about curriculum etc. Every school has something unique you can comment on.
Are their professors there with Board Certifications or specialties in areas that you are interested in? Maybe you like their focus on technology. Perhaps they are big into research and you have some experience with that. Is their curriculum unique? Do they use modules? What sort of rotations sites do they offer.... The list could go on and on.
Just find something unique to the school and go with that. I have been advised in "interviewing seminars" that you should not JUST focus on things like "climate, geography, local attractions etc.". That is really not saying anything about why you chose the school and more about why you chose the region.
I mean, not that those aren't good reasons to consider but you are supposed to be using that question to brown nose the school just a little bit!

Exactly!!!!!

They want to hear why you want to go to THEM - not about why you are leaving someplace else! This works with any interview....jobs, schools, whatever. (Remember this when you have to interview with Zpak...find something that will flatter him, his operation, his staff, the depts goals & objectives, etc.....)

Find something about the school you are going to be interviewing with that is unique to that school only. Give them some indication you have done some homework on the school. Finally....think hard about yourself & what you can give back to the school during your tenure there & after as an alumni (willingness to support the alumni assoc always works in this situation - you can just say you want to be an "active alumni"😉 )

Farmercyst indicated that OSU wasn't any better in his mind than any other school - but belive me....they think they are. (And...that can be said about any school!) Since they are the ones holding all the cards.....tell them they are outstanding in (fill in the blank here) & you are very interested in pursing.......

Remember who your target audience is....when you get your degree & plenty of experience....then you can say you don't like this or that...until then - you have to play the game!

There must be a reason you applied to that particular pharmacy school other than because its on the PharmCAS list.

It wouldnt hurt to surf around the schools website, note the courses you take, the teachers credendials, the atmosphere of the community, the weather, your interest in the school activities, your alumni interaction..etc. etc...

You can dont need to give a BS answer for this one, and it doesnt have to be something witty or complex. For example, in my interview, I said that I had glanced over the curiculum and really like how students began doing site visits from their first semester, and that I liked that the school was part of a larger medical complex, so you got the feel of all the different fields working together.
