I have a quick question for all of you.

I know someone interviewing for Pharm school and they said they interviewed, then got a call back to interview again but didnt get a third call back.

I dont know anything much about Pharm school or the application, I know a lot about Med/Dental/Law but 3 interviews for one school? That seems a little too odd for me, I would except one at the max.

I looked through the FAQ but couldnt find anything. Thanks for the help. Also does Pharm school start once a year or in January and August, so are there two cycles per year or only one? Thanks and good luck to you all!!!

Which pharmacy school is your friend interviewing at?

There's only one application cycle a year for pharmacy.

I dont know what school/schools, it was probably somewhere in Nevada/Utah though in that area, maybe AZ too?

Nobody knows if schools interview you 1 time or a bunch of times?

It seems unlikely that someone would receive multiple interviews for one school. To inconvenience someone to go out to the school 3 times just to interview seems pretty bizarre. Maybe they received a quick phone interview and then an actual interview?

Yeah that could be, but has anyone heard of that before?

HAH! - to the school it would be just the opposite - they could care less if it is an inconvenience to the applicant, but why would they want to inconvenience themselves to hold multiple interviews.

It just doesn't make sense anyway you look at it.

Heard of what - multiple interviews? Yea, I recently learned so myself on this forum.

But they were not all physical interviews. First was either phone or skype interview before the physical. And that would total it to be two interviews. Not sure what could spark a third, assuming we're working with an accurate information here.

The standard at most professional schools is one interview day (where you may have several parts to the interview). Unfortunately, the people making the ultimate decisions are often not the interviewers themselves... and the interviewers may or may not have had the chance to review the student's full application and may not have asked questions which the admissions committee may have wanted to be asked.

As a result of either case, there may be incomplete information on an applicant after an interview. Additionally, there is the occasional circumstance in multi-part interviews where conflicting evaluations are offered (e.g. one interviewer saying the applicant's communication skills are strong and another saying that its the poorest skills ever seen). Yet another scenario is that students deferred from early decision may be asked to interview again with the regular decision candidates.

All of this leads to the infrequent but not rare occurrence of a second interview. I have never heard of a third interview.

(highlighted) - Precisely my point.

The process you are describing sounds like the process of job interviewing not graduate school interviewing. Maybe there was some misunderstanding and she or he was trying to get a pharm tech job? 😕😕

That's news to me...I've never heard of anyone getting more than 1 interview from any pharmacy school.

True that!
