I checked to see if Michigan downloaded my application yet approximately 10 times today.

quant said:Hey Guys
Did anyone apply to Thomas Jefferson in PA? I got a strange letter from them today saying that they have received my application and reviewed it. Then they go on to say no further action is necessary at this time, and they will contact if any further information is required.
😕 😕
Regards
Quant
Actually, last year they started in late october. usually it was the local folks (folks in Michigan or Ohio) who snatched these spots because traveling to Ann Arbor on short notice wasn't that much of a deal for the natives.yaah said:She may not get to it until october. I don't think interviews start until november.

Good luck!
prometheo said:Hi, everybody...I'm doing my OB/GYN call tonight.. 😱
Do you all think if I apply in the beginning of october , it will be too late??
I will apreciate if somebody has an answer. 🙂
Brian Pavlovitz said:Judging by how slow (for most of us) things have been so far, I would venture a guess and say you'd be fine.
Clair de Lune said:Got an interview invite from UT-San Antonio today via snail mail. They ask when I want to schedule the invite...guess I should wait and see what happens with Rita before setting the date.
You can't come in here and demand that random people whom you have never met in real life post their hopes and dreams 😉mcfaddens said:Where did you guys apply to?

Emaline said:Cleveland Clinic by e-mail today. I hope I hear from Ohio State soon so I can at least organize some of my interviews regionally. Otherwise travel costs are going to suck big time. Heck they already do... I had to pay 550 for roundtrip to New Mexico.
Buttercupp said:Me too! The message was not in ERAS- email only. Same for you?
Buttercupp said:Congrats!! 😍 👍
Tell them you're ranking them #1 if you wanna get ranked.beary said:U of Chicago by email.
Brian Pavlovitz said:Ok; I'll hold you to that, mcfaddens! 😉
And the nominees are (in no particular order):
U of A...of Vermont
I'd be open to additions from you more seasoned veterans, too!
Hi, I'm glad there's another IMG! I'm currently in an OB/GYN program...but I'm going to pathology....ob/gyn is unhuman and cruel...I'm getting all my papers together to apply.uhoh! said:good list..funny,but it almost exactly matches the places i have applied to.but, considering i'm an IMG, the total number is more in the 30s..applied mostly in the new england area-most of the boston progs,baystate,berkshire,danbury,hartford-
and also lots in NY-cornell,nyu,albany,suny up-&down state-
and Penn-almost all possible programs!!!
what's worse, got my first rejection also-Univ of Cinn(help with the spelling here!!!) 🙁
i posted my stuff on ERAS on the 12-14th..i guess if AMGs are still sitting tight, IMGs are really in for a LONG wait..![]()
OB/GYN sure seems like a tough line.have heard pretty much the same from everyone i have spoken to..totally respect the OB/GYN people, but it would never work for me. i'm doing my MPH and have no US clinical exp.i'm trying to get started on an observership in the path dept in a nearby hosp,to show something atleast on the interview..hopefully,if i do get some calls, it ought to hold some value..prometheo said:Hi, I'm glad there's another IMG! Brian Pavlovitz said:Well, I'm technically an IMG as well (St. George's University). I added St. Barnabas and St. Luke's/Roosevelt today.
I'm starting to get a little scared since I haven't heard anything yet, though!Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Maybe I'll see you on the interview trail!
And to all those who have had invites--congrats! 👍
you gotta decide what hurts more..overapplying and wasting some money now ,or wasting an entire year kicking yourself..not to say you will, but i'm rather paranoid about this.quant said:Im beginning to get nervous too....im wondering if i should add some more programs....
It's not even October yet...so any worrying at this point is quite premature. If you haven't heard from a single program by the time November rolls around, yeah, I'd get a little bit worried.uhoh! said:to the experienced hands out there-- how long is too long? how worried is too worried? for, what you reap is what you sow.. i'm justing with fear..
to the rest of you-- sorry for sounding like a depressing worry-monger right now..
and,if i hadn't said it before,CONGRATS to those with calls 👍
yaah said:I wish there was an answer to the "how late is too late" question, but in truth it really is still early. There are some programs that tend to do things faster (my first interview I actually did on october 13 or something like that) but it does vary year to year and definitely from program to program.
What are your inclusion criteria if I might ask? I'm trying to see a pattern in your list, but I don't think I'm finding one! PM/email me if you like.Brian Pavlovitz said:And the nominees are (in no particular order): ...
