Hello guys-

Today I got an e-mail saying there was a mistake and I should change my application to reflect the new categorical track. However when I go into ERAS it already seems to be changed for me. Did anyone else change anything in ERAS?

Did you get an email this morning thanking you for your interest and inviting you for an interview? I got one such email and am not sure if its a real interview invite or a mistake because it doesn't have my name anywhere in the text and the email was sent to an aamc.org address (not my personal email address) which I thought was sort of the listserv way for programs to contact us in one swoop...So I'm confused 😕

If you want to confirm, just log into ERAS and check your messages. Any e-mails you receive from "[email protected]" were sent through ERAS.

So -- I doubt the e-mail you received was a mistake. Congratulations.

My roommate applying to anesthesia has been racking up the interviews and he doesn't have any LORs either. Maybe path programs like to have at least one LOR so they know you aren't using path as a backup specialty (at least that's what I keep telling myself).

Well, I have 4 letters already in (all from Pathologists), and I have yet to get an invite.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I guess I should have had a little more faith that it was the real thing...For those waiting: I do have all but one of my letters in and my transcript is in as well. I'm obviously still waiting for the Dean's letter...Anyway keep the faith guys, I have a feeling there are hella invites coming in the next few weeks for all of us! 😀

I am really not like that at all -- for personal reason, I am very limited in the geographical area where I need to match and since I don't have a strong application, I am just really concerned.

It's true. Are they still paying for the hotel? It was nice, I checked in, got the syrup, and they gave me gift certificates for the hotel restuarant which was pretty decent actually.

Whew! Got my first interview invite today, Emory by e-mail (no message on the ERAS yet). I'm so happy, because I was starting to wonder... 😕

Hopefully this is a sign that the wheels have started turning on the invitation offers. I hope that all of you in the application process get some good news this week!

Yeah, im beginning to be a teeny weeny bit worried (come on!, its 1% OCD, or else i wouldnt be hanging around here on SDN!... 🙂 )

3 of my LOR s arent uploaded yet.....ECFMG is being criminally slow in this matter......i talked with a lady today and she told me it takes 3-4 days to scan documents received on a single day...

I almost said "Huh why is that? do you have only one scanner down there?"

But i dint obviously....Im too polite to act like a jerk, even if im pissed.... 🙂 🙂

I forgot to add earlier...so far I only have 2 LoR's which have been uploaded, 1 from a pathologist, 1 from a surgeon. I have 2 more coming, both from pathologists. Although I think one of them must have forgotten about me 😳

In addition to the LoR's, my CV, CAF, Personal Statement, USMLE transcript, and med school transcript have also been uploaded. And they were all up for like a week before I heard anything...so don't stress if you haven't heard yet. I think it must take a while for them to sort through all that stuff 🙂

Yeah, I wouldn't stress at this point. I submitted on Sept. 1st, and only two of the 14 programs I applied to have even contacted me to say "we have received your application..."

Thanks drswam; the PD's cover letter says something to the effect of "we will defray your travel costs in exchange for a seminar presentation about your research work, 30 min, informal." Like anything during an interview is really gonna be informal, right?? 😛

Exciting!!! You'll have to give us the scoop - I don't know anyone who interviewed at the NIH.

A half-hour seminar is doable, as I'm sure you know. Certainly worth the travel expense reimbursement. Treat it like all the other seminars you've done 🙂

Yep, just found out today they do pay for hotel... not sure about gift certificates though.

I also got an invite from Emory today (by e-mail). I finally got my transcript uploaded yesterday, as well as my second LOR, so I think that might help.

So far 4 down, 17 left to hear from. Man I am already stressed out about trying to schedule all this, let alone the price of airfare! Can anyone suggest the cheapest website they know of for airline tickets?

Thank gawd . I was starting to worry that the only invite I was going to get was from one of my safety schools. They sent an email 10 hours after I submitted- they must be REALLY desperate. Don't they know they are supposed to wait at least 2 days before they call somebody after they give you their number? Amateurs.
Now, Michigan on the other hand... this hard-to-get stuff is getting old. I wish they would just download, dammit!
