30Q with 3.36 overall and 3.23 BPCM: 1 interview at Drexel and 1 at NYCOM, rejection from Gerogetown (no surprise) and on hold at Loyola, PSU and Upstate (instate). Really don't know what to expect, just gotta hope and pray interview at Drexel goes well.

Wow - congrats! I wouldn't worry about that "record number of people applying thread." I think the issues in that thread will have more of an impact on late applicants. Those of us with early interviews shouldn't be impacted as much at the schools we've got invites at already. I think that if you relax and interview well, you'll be perfectly fine. Don't sweat it. Do you expect to hear from some schools in two weeks?

I was just wondering how soon people heard from schools about invites after their files were complete. As of now, I've just gotten emails saying my file is complete at the school and nothing else.

1st MCAT 26M, 2nd time 31N - 6 interviews (Cornell, Columbia, UPenn, Einstein, UMass, BU).. I was so relieved to see that schools haven't been caring about that first low score. Hope this helps some of you breathe a sigh of relief.

30Q here (11VR, 11PS, 8BS) with one interview at UPenn of all places, none of the other schools that I thought i had a realistic shot at (Drexel, GWU, Loyola, Loma Linda) and Ive been complete at all of them since mid-August. What gives?

Ok so I have been complete since Mid July. I have a 32Q and a 3.5 overall, with 4.0 BCPM and overall in all but one year due to illness. Getting no love just holds from GW and Penn State. You guys are all doing well. What's my problem? Does applying early still matter? Do I need to let schools know I have space in my schedule to visit?😉

The anxiety is definitely rising.

33 is close enough to 32 that it's probably negligible.

33 is into/past the 2nd standard deviation...

28-31 may as well be considered the same score by most institutions

Just wondering how many interviews people with MCATs in the 28-32 range have so far. I see people with 35+ with 6 or more, but what about people with slightly lower scores?

I am currently a second year medical student. When I applied, I had a 31 MCAT and I got 10 interviews. In the end, I had two acceptances

Actually, schools can tell you that you will be accepted before 10/15. They just can't offer you an official acceptance or spot in the class. So, no letters, emails, etc. I've seen a bunch of people already post that they got accepted to EVMS post-interview when they called to ask.

That is not supported by the MSAR statistics - there is a steep dropoff in med school matriculants as the MCAT composite drops below 30...no way a 31 is viewed as equivalent to (or thus no better than) a 28...

I'm a CA resident, 4 of my interviews are instate the rest are out of state. I applied in June and spent a LONG time on my PS and got some pretty crazy letters of rec. I think that really helped.

Yeah, you're definitely going to have to wait a while longer. Being complete just four weeks ago isn't that long - especially around now when schools are getting really backlogged and moving slower. Good luck.

EDIT: Didn't you start another thread today where you said you have a UConn interview for February? That counts, so I wouldn't say you "haven't heard a damn thing."

If you've only been complete at most schools for a month you should not be "way past the point of panic" yet. Save that for later. Good luck.

Oh, that's horrible. I would have been going insane if my committee letter didn't come out until late august. I am always surprised when I hear some schools do that. Don't they realize that they're delaying your app and that becoming complete asap is really important? My own post-bac school sent me several emails claiming that it wouldn't make a difference whether the letters went out in July or August, but I think because I kept bugging them they got mine out a little earlier than some others (mine went out in early July). Good luck, you've done everything you could, and now unfortunately there's nothing to do but wait....

Same boat as you. I wasn't complete at most schools until the beginning of Sept. because of my school's committee policy. I was fine with it until I saw apps like phoenix where they were complete before my AMCAS was even verified--again, thanks to my school & its quarter system.
