My name is Dr. Dre' - I am addicted to the SDN interview thread and MyEras, as well as my junk mail folder on MSN! I wish I was just a LITTLE bit busier right now...

I couldn't have said it any better! I really need to start concentrating just a little bit more on this darn CS exam I have in a few weeks!!
On Step 2 CS,
If you are a native speaker, do not think about it at all! It is a quite reasonable test, this does not attenuate how much I loathe its conception 🙂
If you are not a native speaker- I am sure you will do well nonetheless!
Good luck with it!

Any scuttlebutt on when your home program is offering invites?
DrDre' said:Any scuttlebutt on when your home program is offering invites?
it concerns me when my home program hasnt offered yet
DrDre' said:Any scuttlebutt on when your home program is offering invites?
that i'm not sure... but i'll keep you guys posted when i get my invite, since they offer an interview to all their own students. i do know that they try not to interview all THAT many people, i believe <100. not entirely sure on that one though.
we all met with PD before our sub-i ended, and he let us know that he gives two ****s about board scores, although they do use them as a filter if necessary. otherwise, he pretty much said that the entire thing rode on the interviews.
Thanks for the response, KK
Looks like you are collecting a nice interview list!

I have worked out a system-after 50 questions I get to check myERAS and here. lol. 😉

🙄 Hang in there. I'm sure we'll end up someplace. And if not, we can always become pharm reps. They make twice as much as residents anyway, and you get a free car.

no problem. looks like you've got a hot stack of them, yourself. sometimes i worry that i don't have the 8 or 9 offers that some SDNers here have, but then i remember that i limited myself to chicago/nyc, pretty much. just a few other outliers here and there besides that.
good luck to everyone, scheduling some of this is madness.
I wouldn't worry - you have some good ones already. There are still relatively few programs overall that have sent out requests- assuming the SDN network covers the majority of them...

No, but i got one from her sister, Gertrude. Sorry, think I have cracked, finally...

Thanks DreDre & E'02, I feel very fortunate. It looks like you guys, and many others on SDN, have also received nice interview invites.
I'm not sure where I want to end up. I do have a strong interest in critical care medicine, so I would prefer to go to a program with a CC fellowship or has a good CC foundation.
Med4ever asked about Step 2 scores - I am fortunate to have my Step 2 scores submitted. My ERAS application is complete with exception of the Dean's letter.
I also received that Beth Israel Deaconess email - I was all excited until I realized it was a "Thanks for your interest" letter.
Good Luck everyone!
Did everyone receiving their Mayo invite also get the plug the Director saying how he was impressed with your application, hoping that you interviewed there.
MUSC via email (9-27)
KungPAO (My favorite post run meal!)
I think everyone got the "impressed letter" from mayo. Anything someone writes is suspect to me for the next x months!
ear-ache,
As to CCM, consider UIowa. Very strong SICU months, lots of months during residency, strong CCM fellowship.

Yes, received the impressed letter and a seperate email with the interview dates.
Med4ever said:For those of you who are getting interviews do you have a posted step 2 score?
Thanks
Paranoia setting in.
I have a posted step 2 score, but most people I know do not.
Actually we should all be patting ourselves on the back for all the good work.
Just a note to everyone - if you've listed a permanent address on your CAF (i.e. parents' address) check with with your folks if they've received any letters. I just got a prelim invite from NY Hospital, Flushing. I did not receive an email nor is it under Messages in ERAS. I hope my parents didn't throw anything out accidentally!

I've been away for a few days attending to more important things (see title). It looks like you've all been seeings some interviews roll on in. Since Monday I got UCLA-Harbor and Mayo-Rochester. Yes, I also got the 'impressed' letter. I thought it was a nice touch.

Does anyone know how to contact ERAS? I havent received any messages from them in almost two weeks, and its starting to piss me off. Not that I expect all these interviews, but to not have any messages in two weeks is a little weird.
Hi all...I've been reading for a long time and this is my first post.
Just want to let you know that you all are awesome and that it's good to know I will have good colleagues in the future.
Best of luck to all and I hope that we will all match well.
For me thus far: UF, UVA, GWU, Columbia, UCLA Harbor, TY Harbor. Hoping for some SoCal loving, but nothing yet.
Also, do you know if Prelim Med programs give out invite later than most? I haven't heard back from any of them and I applied to 10.

It looks like many of the programs sent their first round of interviews already. Hopefully, some will trickle in during October but I expect the bulk of interviews/rejections to come in during Nov. Only today I got, 4 emails with "We are awaiting the completion of your file (ERAS, MSPE) before we can grant you an interview". So needless to say, we may have to wait until Nov. So far I've only gotten 3 interviews for gas and two prelims. Not as good as I hoped but slowly but surely. I will send my transcripts in next week and hope for some more action.

Yeah, check your spam mail folder, and double check whether the email address you provided is correct (the latter might be the prob, since u dont have any messages in ERAS)
Jet Prop,
You remember MY lyrics better than I do!
I hope your personal and professional lives are mellowing out now.
You need to get back to listening to those beats and pushing your squats again!
