How is everybody doing with the MMS transition? Yesterday was a big disappointment IMHO. I downloaded the update, synchronized with iTunes, and reset my phone. Nothing to my horror. Ruined an otherwise nice day.

I am able to send and receive MMS today; however, it is very slow. So, progress I guess.

What's the function of MMS?

What's the function of MMS?

It's Multi Media Messaging Service. In essence, it allows you to send pictures, video, and other multimedia messages from phone to phone without use of email or web browsers. The iPhone even allows you to send voice memos and GPS coordinates via MMS.

In fact, most of the entry level phones have this service, and iPhone users throughout the world have been enjoying the benefits of MMS for quite some time. However, AT&T finally got around to extending MMS support to iPhone users in the United States. Only because people have been aggressively pushing for this service no doubt. Not sure I see AT&T taking progressive steps on their own accord. Not that MMS is an aggressive step, as my wife's several year old V3 Razor has had MMS support for at least three years now.

That's just sad CB

LOL 😀

In my defense, I don't read any tech forums or anything, so any discussion like this is among my Mac friends or on here, and I was curious if anyone had used it yet.

But since I have no one to MMS with that gets MMS for free.... oh well no need to use it

That's just sad Slevin. 😛😛

I first tried to send a picture message and it limited me to adding about 4 pictures (the camera is grayed out after so many are added). It sent, but in reality the recipient never got it. I tried sending a single picture and it was sent and received within minutes. So that's kind of screwy.

I sent a MMS on friday and my friend got it on Monday. I think UPS delivers stuff faster!

Yeah, I get the feeling that a lot of people heard through the gravevine or that text announcement from ATT that the software was released, but they forgot or didn't realize that they needed to restart their phones for it to take effect. Hell, I know some people don't know how to turn off their iPhone since they just never need to.
