I applied there last year, so I could probably answer any questions or calm any concerns you have...besides that, T4Change who I'm pretty sure is an admin on the forums, is a current student there and would also be a wonderful person to talk to.

I don't mind answering questions, as I'm not one of the interviewers this year, so I won't have a conflict of interest, etc.

Thank you for your responses! I've been pretty anxious lately and I need some questions answered if you wouldn't mind.

I'm currently a student at Nova will that hurt my application?

Do they have any preferences for the students that went to the previous Interview Day.

I went to a Mock interview at career services and it went really bad. They asked me very confusing questions.. and I was just wondering if it is like that for example they asked me:

Can you give an example of a piece of work, which made you particularly aware of your personal position with regard to class/gender/race/disability etc?

I understand the question but I don't see why they would ask that.. They also asked me about knowledge in psychology, and told me to criticize models...

That interview made me more anxious and nervous.. what are the interviews like? How does the group interview work?

I am a 4th year Optometry student leaving my apt after graduation. It is a great place and the landlord promises not to raise rent if a student leases for 2-4yr period.

Yes I applied to Nova and was there on the first interview day. Have you heard anything?

I did not get asked hard questions like that. The main questions you should be ready to answer are "why nova" and "tell me about yourself, your interests" etc. Nothing hard was asked at my interview. One thing they did throw at us during our group interview with a faculty member was He wanted to know if we could tell him why any OTHER interviewee should be accepted. So basically we had to comend the others in the room on their accomplishments and tell them why they should be accepted. I hated that question though. No one said anything positive about me, and that discouraged me.

Hey, I applied to Nova and I was at the first interview day. Im guessing that by now you have already been to the interview day and like the rest of us you are anxiously awaiting a letter in the mail?

I thought that the one-on-one interview was pretty relaxed. Mainly just casual talking about how my experiences and opportunities has lead me to apply to Nova/Psy D./Forensic concentration etc. I said that was the fastest half hour of my life.

The group interviews are a different concept to me. Apparently, we should stand out by asking good questions and being enthusiastic. My group interview was a table full of applicants and one professor from the school psychology program(Im not school psych).

Has anyone on here actually heard from Nova? I was at the first interview day and they said that they would be sending out some offers on the day of the second interview.

I was also at the March 2ndintervie and was told that we would hear back on or around March 10. I have not heard anything from them either way. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one! I did some research into last year's admissions, and it seems as though Nova sends out their acceptances in two waves beginning two weeks after the final interview day.

Overall, I was very impressed by the school and am anxiously awaiting an email from them either way...

Typically the invites go out the last full week of March, which would be 2ish weeks after the 2nd interview date.

They send an email first, then the hard copy gets to you by mail a couple of days after the email...

I'm not sure. I've been involved with the interview process over the years, though I've never been privy to how they make their final selections and admissions. I know they like to have all of their notifications out by the last week of March, so there is still time.

i got an email acceptance two days ago.

the way i believe they do it is the following:

everyone is preranked on a number scale going into interview day based on credentials, gre, etc. the interview then is incorporated into that scale (though based on the laid-back nature of the int, i think it was more to weed out the crazies or people who couldnt hold a conversation...so i dont think the interview changed the standing very much imo).

After this, i believe thay make a ranked list of every interviewed applicant based on their respective score. a first wave of acceptances is sent out (the people ranked 1-some number), then a second wave is sent out a bit later so that they can better gauge the number of acceptances and not send too many out. i would imagine the next wave will happen towards the end of next week.
