Is everyone really good at science here? Like i looove science, especially chemistry but my grades are fairly decent. I'm taking AP Bio and physics. physics, i have ups and downs. for AP Bio i'm getting it but so far it's an 80-89. So idk... =/ i know its going to be tough and i'll have to study more. I just want to know if anyone else is okay with science, but is doing fairly well or excellent in pharmacy school right now or got accepted with science grades in teh 80s.

I got into schools with Cs in some science courses. Of course, don't get complacent but I'm just saying that sub-B grades in science courses are not kisses of death.

also, the science courses in college vary a lot

you may HATE microbiology, yet you may LOVE physiology...if you're getting those kinds of grades in HS, i think you should be okay in college. you'll find the classes you love and get A's in them.

I don't think grades in high school, really indicate how well you will do in college. For example, I got a lot of B's in high school because I took advanced courses. But now that I'm in college, I'm making A+ in all my science classes. It just depends on how well your AP program is and how much it challenges you. But from the looks of it, I would say that you are fine. Just take good professors in college and your grades will b fine.

Hehe, along the same lines however, just because you do well in your science classes in college doesn't mean you'll do well in your classes in professional school. :meanie:

It's all about attitude, work ethic, and the amount of time you put in =)

I love science, so much that I got a C in gen chem II and a D in embryology. Professors can make or break it. It didn't poop on my parade for good though.

Just relax my friend, you're fine. There's no worries about B's or even a random C as long as the rest of your grades are good. Get some worthwile extracurriculars, TA/RA, or tutor. Get pharmacy experience and good LORs; you'll be golden.

good luck 😀

I think it really depends on the individual. For me, I'm top of my class in organic chemistry. But I'm struggling in Mammalogy with a B-. What's the difference? Mammalogy is pure 100 percent memorization. A lot of facts and information you have to store and spit back out. I really struggle with pure memorization. But when it comes to organic, yes there's memorization involved, but if you learn the mechanisms, you can apply them to any problem. I like it because I can grasp the concepts and see how they build on each other. I'm good at that kind of thing. That's why I'm good at Calculus too. Learn the concept and you can apply it to any problem. So it's all about finding your individual strenghts and weaknesses. Some people just aren't good test takers. And the difference between an A and a B on a test could be that your baby was up all night crying the night before the test. My point is an A or a B really isn't a predictor of much. Do your best but don't get bogged down over a grade. It's just a grade. Remember that. Keep things in perspective.

I'd say you are.

How about me? =P I had an F, two D's, about 12 C's in my science classes 🙄

(and yes, I really did, before I retook classes to boost my GPA). The point of the story is that grades aren't everything, and it is entirely possible to still do well in pharmacy school even with bad undergrad science grades as long as you did learn the material =)

I'm ok at science. I always get B's in any chemistry course but other science classes I get A's. As for math I am always in the "just hold on" range.

I REALLY like Chemistry, and I would say I am good at it. But I ALSO work very hard. That is really the key. My dad went through engineering school and hates math. He said it was sheer will and determination that got him through. I'm not big on math, but I am working HARD in Calculus too and so far I have an A. If you can work hard (and pick the right professors) then you can definitely succeed. As for biology...I'm not really sure. I haven't taken it yet. I didn't like it in highschool though.

I didn't discover my interest in science until halfway through college - I was in advanced classes in high school but never really felt that interested/capable in chemistry or biology. I love microbio now - I still struggle with chemistry and physics but I work on it and I can make the grades.

Funny, I struggle with organic chemistry because I have a hard time remembering all of the mechanisms. Granted, I did take orgo over the summer meaning I had to cram it in my brain much quicker, and my professor was hands down the worst prof I've ever had, but still... Whereas bio I can grasp more easily. I can visualize an antibiotic breaking down a bacterium much more easily than I can rotate molecules in my brain.

There are science classes that I do great in and others that I struggle with.. For example, my Immunology class this semester.. It's killing me!

I pretty much suck at Science.

As of right now (1st semester sophomore year)

A's in - Physics Lab
B's in - Bio I and II, Chem I, Chem II Lab
C's in - Chem II, Chem I Lab, Physics I, Current O Chem Grade, Current Microbio grade

And yet.....I still like my science classes...

A in chm1
B in chm2
A in Bio

im no a genius, just study a lot and focus yourself.. it only benefits you.🙂 Love what you do!

i guess this message is to all the studentsb that made f's and d's and c's

while c is passing and d does not transfer and f puts you on academic probation

i will suggest you should take all those classes again
