How can they know who is whom? SDN is anonymous.
This has to be bullshizzzz. They've figured it out before. When I was there anyway. I created this separate account because if you look at my old posts on my main account, you can figure out who I am if you know me. And yes, they'll sit around and go through your old posts to figure out who you are.
They've created so much fear at that school that people don't even want to create accounts like this to post because it's just not worth it with your medical career being at risk.
Ha. We may have met the same adcom member, because I was also turned off from applying just by the way someone spoke. I was at a school event that was also a AACOM fair of sorts (so there were representatives from many schools) and the LECOM representative not only didn't impress me, but actively turned me off from applying. It was pretty impressive since his attitude did the exact opposite of what every other school was going for.I will say though that I've met with an adcom member of LECOM directly and his attitude was the last straw that turned me off this school. I asked him about attrition and he basically said, "Oh, that's not our fault at all, some people just aren't smart enough to handle the curriculum and drop out within a week." I asked what they did for academic remediation and he just went, "Well, if you're not smart enough to handle the work, then you shouldn't be a doctor."
I don't necessarily disagree with either of those comments, but the way he said them really turned me off. It seemed to be a very "LECOM way or bust" kind of attitude... as in the school was doing everything right and the deficits were entirely on the part of the students. Every school has deficiencies, it's not good to just blame it all on the students.

What do you propose is the motivatoin for large numbers of LECOM alums/students to assert these things then? You don't see students/alums telling you these kinds of things from other schools, so I'm curious as to what your theory is on this.
The only theory I can think of (beyond the truth, that is) is that LECOM has a disproportionately high rate of disgruntled students out to make up malicious lies about the school. If this is true, then it's obviously not a very well run school regardless.
I didn't believe what an awful place it was either until I went there. I thought the students on SDN were exagerating and immature. I was wrong.
This. Where I work we have a LECOM grad and 2 Touro-CA grads. The LECOM grad spoke highly of his time there, where as the Touro grads both suggested that I only go to Touro if I don't get in anywhere else. (Their opinion was mostly due difficulties setting up clinicals, so I cant speak for the quality of the program currently as they both graduated in the early 2000's) Obviously n=1 and everyone's experience will be unique. If you think the rules or uniform requirements are going to bother you then don't attend. I was in the Navy prior to this so I am not the least bit concerned with their rules.I work at a hospital near Lecom B and have noticed a couple of physicians that went to school there. I talked to one for a minute and in my very short convo with him he said his experience there was good and if I ever need anything to hit him up. The other physician was also very nice but I was only introduced to him and nothing more. It looks like my coworkers like him a lot though. I was told he teaches a bit at Lecom. Obviously neither represents the entire faculty or student body but it gives me hope that it isn't all that bad. I can put up with stupid rules and professional dress easily. Anyone who has played competitive sports won't think twice about having to wear a uniform/look good every day/put up with people who have power over you. I'd be more concerned about lack of support and failing. I wouldnt slack off or take things for granted but if I'm going to shell out enough money for school and I put in my best effort I would expect the faculty to give their best effort and be supportive right back.
