Is it appropriate to write to the program coordinator if you haven't heard back?

Here's my situation:

The program sent me an invite on Dec 1st and I replied with my top 3 preferences on the same day. A couple days later, I received invites from 2 other programs and the dates they offered are 2 of the 3 dates that program1 offered me (just my luck........)

Long story short, I haven't heard back from Program 1 yet. Is it appropriate to email the coordinator or PD now?

How should I word my email without being too pushy?
How about this?

"I want to thank you again for the interview invite. I am very excited and honored to be interviewing at your program.
I just want to follow up on my interview scheduling with you. Thank you."

Is that enough? or should I give them a reason why I want the confirmation sooner than later?

Definitely give them a call/e-mail. Thats a pretty long time to not hear back, in my experience. You're not being pushy at all, IMO.

I agree. Program coordinator's email inboxes can fill up fast, and this is really getting to "the meat" of interviewing season. They shouldn't perceive you as pushy--as long as you don't present yourself as such. Your sample email above should be just fine.
