When is TOOO late to apply to dental schools?

I applied during first batch to 11 schools, but after reading about more about other dental schools like UPenn and Maryland, I seem to like those ones better. My question is, since it is now the middle of August, is it too late to apply to more dental schools? What are the chances that I will get a pre-December interview? Is it even worth apply to more at this point? Do I even have a chance? If it helps, I have a 3.48 science GPA and a 3.64 overall and a 21 on my DAT. I just don't know what to do at this point.. Help.

It's mid-cycle, how could it be too late? A huge portion of the applicants haven't even applied.
