Is now too early to start emailing about summer shadowing?

Hi everyone, I've spent a long time "lurking" on SDN, but I've never needed to post my own question. However, I'm having a hard time finding any answers on the timing of when I should start sending out emails to doctors about shadowing opportunities. I'm looking to get as many hours shadowing this summer as I can. I'm out of school the first week of May. Is it too early to start reaching out to doctors right now? If so, about when should I start sending out those emails?

I'd say that if you are in populated area (probably not "MontanaMan") now is a great time to start looking. If not, March is fine. Also change ur pic your privacy issues if you care about that
