Hey there, I'am currently in grade 11 and I want to become a dentist in the future. I have searched many places, however I can not get a clear answer. I'am currently taking biology, math, chemistry, physics, english, and other courses. However, my physics is really bad, is it true that universities do not require physics? I'am confused. I want to get into U of T and on their website they tell me about the courses I need to take to be able to get into U of T dentistry faculty. It does not say phsyics any where but as I search up "life science courses" it says 2 semesters or 1 full year of physics... I'am confused. Does a dentist take life sciencs (BSa) in university?
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Most Canadian dental schools (possibly none) do not require physics, however many BSc programs do require usually a year of physics

So you plan to attend U of T for undergrad and dental school or just undergrad?

If there's a chance you might apply to dental schools in the united states as well, you would be wise to take a year of physics while at U of T during your undergraduate education.

All American Dental Schools will require Physics. Almost all science majors, including the one you had mentioned will require Physics. There's no escaping it. And I don't know why everyone complains about Physics. It's super interesting and will teach you fascinating feats our human being race has accomplished in our existence.

I'm presuming U of T is UToronto and not some state school I'm missing here.

Some BSc programmes at UToronto requires physics, others don't. Neither of my majors did, but I had to take it anyways to apply to American dental schools.

The dental school at U of T only requires physiology and biochemistry.

Other Canadian schools do require physics (ie. UAlberta, off the top of my head). UWO will require it if you're in your last year of undergrad. Every school is different. Contact them to satiate your curiosity.

And my most important piece of advice: Chill. You're still in high school. It's good that you have these sorts of early goals (I sure didn't), but they may change, and you should remain relaxed and open to new experiences. In all likelihood, 5-6 years from now, you could find yourself in a place you never expected to be.

Yes...they do require physics for the most part
