I understand that the brain has a hedonic treadmill built into it.

Is it still possible to design a drug that:

1. Produces immense pleasure,
2. Does not significantly reduce future pleasure,
3. Is safe with minimal side effects in the long run,
4. And is a long-term effective treatment for depression?
