Hey guys, I got a strange PM commenting about how I had said I don't like anesthesiology.

I don't know if the sender had gotten posts confused, or if someone is spoofing my account. I am not on SDN everyday so I could easily miss such a thread. I'm assuming the sender got his posts confused because I have not received any warnings from the moderators.

Have any of you seen strange/inappropriate posts from me? If so, please let me know. I am an attending anesthesiologist in the Mid-South and love what I do. I know internet forums are not very anonymous, so I would not post anything that I would not be willing to say in person.

Addendum: The sender referred to anesthesiology as gas. I do not call it gas in order to avoid perpetuating misconceptions already present in the lay public.

Hey RS, maybe take a look at your sent messages or outbox? That could rule out anything that was sent from your account, at least.

Hi Scooby. That's a good point. Nothing sent since February -- I remember sending those messages.

It was probably just a mistake, but my email address was spoofed in undergrad so I'm a little jumpy.

I've asked the person who sent me the PM to copy me what he thinks I said.

PM's have a report feature.

If you report the message

once received, the mod staff will look into this as well.

So far, I don't see anything concerning in your profile or message history that makes me think your account has been hijacked.

Interesting. I just responded to the same type of PM, seeking advice about which specialty to pick.... Troll, or just someone genuinely looking for advice?

I noticed today that there were many odd postings made by Eta C. All out of character for her. It appeared to me that someone had hijacked her account and made her out to be some sort of blatant bigot. From all of her earlier posts i had not had that impression, so I think something strange is happening around here.

No, she is a full-on bigot, and a disgrace that I hope to not see here again. Read what she wrote, and the way that she wrote it. It's her. Clearly.
You will get banned for posting porn, but if you post a bunch of disgusting racist comments, backing them up with racist insults, that's fine.👎 Pathetic.
She should not be welcomed back in this forum.
If you don't know what I am talking about look at the thread below and/or the one she started in "the lounge".
I was particularly disgusted that she thinks that because anesthesiologists are "straight talking" and "conservative" she would be welcomed back here after the hate that she spewed over there.
No hijacking going on, only perceived elitism, stupidity and open bigotry. And if all that is not bad enough. She thinks it's funny and continues to make jokes about it. Still, apparently not a problem. I think I'll post some naked women to get myself banned forever, so that I won't be tempted to come back and continue to post.

After reading your post I found the posts you've been referring to. Hmmmm. Couple of months ago when our forum started to be flooded first, her postings were quite the opposite on the political spectrum. The style is the same, but the content has changed drastically. Which leads to the conclusion that it actually does not matter what is written...as long as it attracts attention 😉

Remember, not all SDN forums are moderated ("The lounge"). And of course anything you put out there on the net remains forever for everyone to see.
