Is taking AAMC Preview in August too late?

I'm planning on taking preview on August 16th. Won't be able to take it earlier due to conflict with other things. Would this be too late? Results would come back mid September I believe. It's worth noting that every school I'm applying to only recommends it NOT required. Because it's only recommended, would this be fine?

This will be the experiment this year... what does "recommended " really mean?

You need to reach out to all your schools and find out if they are making decisions to interview or decisions to offer with PREview scores as an extra boost if needed.

I would still encourage people to complete it early if your MCAT prep does not interfere.
