I am working through the GS tests right now, and for their BS section, most of their solutions reference the passage from which the answer can be deduced. Is this how the real test is too that you can get what you need from the passage?

BS is more like verbal that PS.

By that, I mean that you'll find on BS that (sometimes) the answers are embedded in the passage and require a certain level of reading comprehension to extract them. For PS, I almost never relied on the passage to answer questions. There's also inference questions that require the tester to synthesize and apply new information given in a passage to answer questions...which is pretty verbal-like.

I strongly suggest you get some new practice tests. GS just don't cut it anymore.

Hey,

I am purchasing the TBR tests this week, and I have all of the AAMC ones.

Why do you say the GS tests don't cut it any more? are they harder, easier, ect.?
