I am planning on taking Step II in December, I have a very strong Step I, excellent grades etc.... am I still at a disadvantage for taking Step II later? should I take it in November? I am sure I will drop!

advice arghghggh

if you're ready to take it, just get it over with. you'll probably do well if you study since you did well on step 1 and during med 3.

If you're not applying to programs which require Step 2 and you have a good Step 1 and the rest of your application, its fine to put it off until December...you will be finished with the majority of your interviews by the time your scores come back and will be better prepared (it sounds like) than if you took it earlier, which could result in a better score.

Many students wait until the end of their 4th year to take it...see threads on Dr. Sophie Currier.🙄

oh... our school requires us to take it before december 31.

don't take it. nothing to gain, but a lot to lose.

I will not take step 2 until I finish all my interviews.

Why are you sure you will drop? Most people always go up in score because it's easier.
