In Korea, a popular plastic surgery operation is to have the face (more specifically the jaw) shaved. I was wondering if maxillofacial surgeons are able/trained to do such a procedure as well.

I think oral surgeons are qualified to perform cosmetic surgery

Of course! OMS are certified in many cosmetic and reconstructive jaw surgeries.

Is that only for OMFS with 6 year MD degree or 4 year non-MD can perform such procedures also?

Both can perform procedures like this (legally) and have had substantial training. However, it is probably easier to setup a pure plastics clinic if you have your MD and have completed a fellowship. This is mainly for the purposes of marketing so that you can build a good client list.

Note, I only said easier 😉
