I have seen a lot of discussions recently that say to not submit an academically-related challenge essay. I am wondering if what I have written (and already submitted to many schools) falls under that umbrella.
I begin by discussing my transition to college: first in my family to attend a major university, lacked mentorship, and had to work multiple part-time jobs to support myself. At a certain point, the financial stress almost forced me to disenroll. This situation culminated in me failing two classes. I then transition in the essay to talk about what I did to address my challenges, how I learned to ask for help, and how I have matured because of it.
What do you all think? Is this an appropriate challenge essay? Any advice is appreciated since I still have ~40% of my secondaries to submit. Thanks!
