"In the space provided, please discuss challenges in your journey to applying to medical school."

Am I supposed to treat this as a "discuss a challenge you've had" or is this reserved for students who have actually had significant challenges in the application process?

They are looking for evidence of resilience and coping skills. Nobody leads a charmed life.
 
Thanks for the response, would it be appropriate to discuss how I was unsure, confused of what I wanted to do going into undergrad and struggled before switching my major and figuring out what I wanted?
