I love vacation...

Always looking forward to the next, but honestly pretty much every day off is awesome at home so I'm fulfilled at baseline.

I encourage people on here to post pics of general awesomeness, so we can all feel good about it. The SDN crew has helped me plan a few trips, most notably... the wife and I went on an offbeat New Mexico sojourn not long ago, and I'm climbing the Grand Teton this year with my best buddy since 6th grade in August with help from WhiteCoatInvestor.

If somebody is going to say, Alaska on a cruise next month... we should see pics.

the river going into the beach you can have them both.

Funny how you never see threads like this in the FM, IM, and Peds forums

Can you guys say where these places are? I'm making a bucket list
Edited the originals. Decent idea, and anonymity still maintained if you space them out from when you post them to facebook I suppose.

In what sense?

You go all the way out to some arbitrarily located place far from your home, wasting gas and spending time that could be better spent elsewhere to sit in a tiny place not fit for a human being. You're almost totally separated from everyone else. You sit there for an arbitrarily determined period of time for which you are given pieces of paper that allow for subsistence. You are given an uncomfortable chair and a crappy computer. You do this in the prime years of your life and when you are old and your body starts to deteriorate, you are pushed out, to be replaced by someone else

Everything is arbitrary. The true meaning of life is to distract ourselves with these arbitrary things that we do until we die. It makes no difference in the end, might as well just go with the, more laminar, flow.

Just booked a dominican republic all inclusive for a couple months from now. Can't wait. There is nothing better than a vacation in which I have to do no thinking whatsoever - aside from deciding which alcoholic beverage I want next.

... In the mean time - trying to get to work on that beach body I've never had in my life
