There are SO MANY bad things that people have been saying about IUHS and yet it is still up and running.

Can someone explain why this is the case? Is it true that IUHS is banned in most US states? Will on-campus IUHS students be able to get a license to practice in most states (except obviously CA,TX,OR,IN,NM,GA and those that use CA list). IUHS-DLP will no doubt have huge problems than their on-campus program. Their DLP grads wont get licensed in almost 40 states.

How many students are enrolled in IUHS on-campus rite now? And how many in their DLP? It is no doubt the cheapest of the carib med schools (just 68k total for 4yrs) but what about the quality of their education? They claim to have residents in states like GA,AZ,IL,MD,IA,NE,etc

Does IUHS have any grad who was able to get a license to practice? Has any of their DLP grads been able to get into residency and get licensed?

Any IUHS students and others with accurate knowledge about IUHS and the DLP plz post info here.

Wow, aren't there any IUHS students out there? Dont you have any good things to say about your med school?

No one to defend IUHS on this forum!😀?

Why should they? Banned in a few states, Online Basic science,

To me its a waste of money to go there and a bad risk for a future.

Yes, I agree that it is a HUGE risk but their grads are still able to get into residencies and apparently some are out there practicing with a full license in states like IL, etc!! I googled and found this: http://www.siumed.edu/cfpc/residents.php Apparently there are more out there, in fact I heard one got into Anesthesiology as well!!

Anyways, does anyone know if IUHS graduates who complete their basic science via distance learning get a license anywhere in the south east or south west like GA, FL, AZ, TX, etc?

Which states will actually license them?

You sound like you are thinking of going there? DO not even think!

There are 3 better schools I can think of above IHUS

St. James
Xavier
St. Eustatious

to name three, they do not have such problems and have Residents in great places too

One in Ortho this yr from SJSM!

Just stay away from a school with such Licensure issues there are reasons they are so cheap!

Any school that does its basic science courses over the Internet should raise red flags. Those types of schools are diploma mills. I don't know how a few IUHS students managed to snag residencies, but I wouldn't even take the risk of going to that school. You wouldn't be allowed to practice in most states, and, as an IMG, there is enough difficulty in getting a residency. Before blowing your money on a diploma mill, look at more established Caribbean schools with an actual track record of graduates obtaining residencies.

'pro, there are several anesthesiologists that are alums from St James.

And one matched into ortho this year? Wow!

I heard that the class of 2008 had about 90% matching into a residency and several scrambled successfully.

😀
