i will be studying until i leave for the test site. that's just my style. so i will be studying friday morning.

There is highlighting on the real test, right? Can anyone confirm this? I have asked one or two people and they have said that there was.

I 100% agree with you here. I am officially freaking out now. And my practice tests are still all over the place. I just want to sleep until it's all over, but I can't sleep becuase I'm so stressed!! :cry::barf::cry:

so people have been mentioning what theyre going to do the day before the mcat, but what about after the mcat? What are u all going to do to celebrate the death of the monster? My friends rented out a limo for saturday night for me and were going club/bar hopping for like 5 hours.:hardy: My goal is to forget as much as possible (via alcohol) and hope I dont have to retake with a freshly erased (and hungover) mind.

i'm probably going to buy a bottle of vodka, put it in a flask, and go watch transformers drunk out of my mind. then i will watch die hard 4 in the same state.

From looking at other forums, it appears that highlighting IS available. At least that's what other people who've already taken it say.🙂

According to the Prometric link above it is available but it doesn't stay after you switch to a new passage.

I am WAY too old for this test anxiety mess. I am also trying to figure out wether to drink coffee before the test or not.... yup, coffee... I have to or I wont be alert.😴

No matter what, I still suck at physics.😀 Oh well test day right around the corner, in either case, I will be fine!!!

I took it on April 7th and there is no search box but there is highlighting.

I'll be retaking it with you guys. 2 more days!!!!!

Nope, not for a long while. I'm doing the 1:30 though.

I did AAMC 7 today, my last one. It was supposed to be a confidence booster, but I got 30. BOO! And the worse thing is that I did it ALREADY last year and got 30. Basically I didn't improve in a year. Pff, and I actualyl did better in AAMC 10 where I got 32 and I haven't done it before.

Gahhh....Dread Dread Dread...

I have been waking up at 6am since Monday to get me ready for the BIG DAY. Last night I fell asleep at 9pm. Tonight I will go to sleep in a few minutes if I can get myself off this computer. I need this all to be over so I can get ON with my life.

Here is a last minute-question (T minus 10 hours): do I need to bring the registration printout to the test site? It seems like I should only need my ID according to the long "Preparing for the MCAT" PDF file, but I've misplaced the printout and I don't have access to a printer tonight... Thanks for any replies and good luck tomorrow, everyone!

I don't know about the printout,but nobody says you need it. I am sure they have internet access there if there is a problem and you need to look up you aamc account.


Test is in 2 hours. The coffee is on the pot brewing. I think I will make eggs for breakfast. This is so exciting. 🙂

It's over! I am still numb from the experience. I thought it was MUCH harder than the practice tests. I guess we will have to wait and see.... Good luck to all you afternooners!!

Yep, it's over. I was dismayed to see that galvanic cell passage. I didn't recall learning that stuff in gen chem and I didn't realize it was on the MCAT until last night, but I didn't have time to try to learn it. Yes, I should have studied a lot more.

The verbal seemed pretty straightforward, there were only one or two that I was unsure about. BS was OK, at least the organic chem wasn't too bad.

I took AAMC CBT 10 on Tuesday and got 11PS, 13VR, 13BS but I'll be lucky if I do that well on this one. 🙁 Hope you guys feel better than I do.

To echo someone else..... I feel like throwing up! I'll be happy if I get above 30. Anything more is just gravy.

Did anyone feel that the test was harder, but went quicker ? ive never finished ps and vr with ten min to spare.... im worried....

I have never finished PS with time to spare, but I made myself guess on ones I was frustrated with, and then came back to them at the end.

Overall I felt the test was moderate, with PS being the hardest

ps was harder, and bs was definitely harder. verbal wasn't too bad. i had to guess on like 4 on each section except verbal. bs was all passage based, which kind of sucked, but hey, hopefully the curve is higher. i hope i got at least a 28. pray for me. i'm gonna go watch transformers drunk after dinner.

*Screams* It's done. Wow. I was really nervous my hands were shaky when I was giving the fingerprints to get ready to begin the test. Now I'm just anxious to see what I made. Sighh, I really think Biology section killed me.

What should I do to avoid being surprised by a passage based bio section? In which practice books are the questions more passage based?

How much harder is it than the practice tests?

I don't want that feeling of 'difficulty' when I take the MCAT, becaue if things get difficult, I start to get stressed out and tend to not perform to my full potential.

I don't like surprises... I want to be ready for anything.

I was wondering where you were. The afternoon people (me)... we had a different version. I didn't have a galvanic cell passage, but I had a blackbody/ containers passage that was impossible, so I hope its experimental. I also had a passage in the verbal about laws relating to clothes in the 1300s and 1400s that was killer, which I don't think was on the AM exam.


Overall, the exam had a different feel from the AAMCs. I felt like many questions were out to trick you, more so than test your knowledge. Overall though, I think we will be fine.

Harder isn't necessarily worse. I'm now scared all the q's I did well just mean everyone else did well. And when I did bad, that means I'm the only one who did bad. Gah..evilll MCAT.

I took it at 1:30pm.

and it was really hard.

i took one on apr 2007(cbt) and i must say today was much much tougher overall...

but we'll see.

I felt the 2 passages you mentioned were the 2 toughests of the PS and VR sections for me too. I hope I got aways with some of the bb questions.. the verbal was hard for me.. the clothing standards of medevil england or whatever was the one that hurt the most probably.. dont know why but i think it was less of the passage complexity and more the types of questions that went with it

If anyone understood the verbal question about the girl being alluded to as a neatly tied bow and what it meant in terms of her character please let me know. I was very clueless what the answer was.
