Ok, just finished with the PCAT this morning and here's my review:

Verbal: solid, no problems, think I did pretty good on this section
Biology: pretty hard. I dont even remember it. I guessed on maybe 25% of it. Seemed like there was quite a bit of biology III based questions which I've never had.
Chemistry: killed me. I guessed on maybe 50% of the questions. Seemed like there was SOOO much that even if I knew how to do it I didn't have the time. And I consider myself pretty strong in chemistry.
Reading: easy breezy. 🙂
Quantitative: had to guess on a few questoins for time reasons, but overall very doable. I felt pretty strong when I finished this section.

Overall, I knew this PCAT would be more of a dry run because I'm taking Organic Chemistry right now and haven't really studied yet. But now I feel much more comfortable with it and will have 5-6 weeks free to study before the August PCAT. What about you guys?

did you guys write in toronto?

essay- i did okay
verbal=mediocre
bio=mediocre
chem=was definietly my best section
math=i bombed this section. SOO HARD...kaplan Did not prepare me enough...i had to guess on like 20 question!!

can someone help me with HOW i can improve my math skills...i need more practice material...

for math use dr collins. kaplan doesnt prepare you as well for the calculus problems that are on the real test. the pearson practice tests are similar. the real quant section i thought was a bit less intense than the collins material

Overall I think it was Ok.

Verbal- i felt this part was easy and Dr.Collins helped tremendously in this section.

Bio- was deceptively simple. There were many that were easy but a lot of drug questions as well. Had to guess on a few but not too bad.

Chem- I felt this was my strongest section and again Dr. C was a big help here along with the Pearson practice tests.

RC- was a nightmare! The passages were more difficult or rather the questions were. Dr. C doesn't really prepare for this section. His RC's are straight forward. Here it was a lot of analysis, point of view, opinion Q's. I barely finished it on time.

Quant- knew before itself that I would run out of time and that's exactly what happened. When the proctor called 5 mins, i still had abt 7 probs to do. So did some random bubbling in. Abt 75-80% I knew well and the others I had no clue.

Essays- weren't too bad. Listened to a lot of NPR and that paid off!

And now I wait....

Yes, testing environment can be pretty crazy. I remember last year, we tested in the lunchroom of a college. I was sitting closest to the vending/soda/fridge machines and the humming sound was more than annoying.

Yeah - I would call. On the plus side, the proctors bundle your test booklet, answer booklet, and admission ticket together (my proctor told us this), so in theory, Pearson should be able to bubble it in for you if your other identifying info was bubbled. You bubbled and signed the back, right? I think that was the important part.

yea i bubbled and signed the back... im gonna give them a call tomorrow.. holy crap.. omg.

I don't remember bubbling in my test form #, but most of yesterday morning is a fog to me right now. I remember writing it though. I know that if the test form boxes had the bubbles beneath them I would have filled them in. I'm sure you would have too.

i only filled in the 4 digit book number.. i didnt fill out the.. other thing under the test form boxes.. at least i dont remember.

I just have to say this six weeks is going to be the death of me. Thank goodness I am busy getting ready to move. I just hope the scores get here before we have to set our mail to forward (that would really make me insane).

I am so nervous b/c the scores I get are going to tell me how I should proceed.

The longest 6 wks ever! I'm already planning on retaking in Aug. I just got offered a pharm tech student summer position. 🙂 That and A&P I will keep me busy until scores come out.
