My daughter's birthday is today. She turned 5. I haven't seen her in a week nor will I see her for another week and a half because she's with my parents (so's my 3 year old son) a state away so I can study for this thing.

That sucks! But this hard work will pay off.

That does suck, maybe you can call her on the webcam (don't know if your parents have one). It will be worth it for you, and provide her with a nice future, so she'll forgive you 🙂

Nope, none of us have one. I tried calling her on the cell phone, but my parents didn't answer. She LOVES my parents and is having a whole lot more fun there than she would here. Her cousins all live in the area, and I guess they've been spending a lot of time on the slip-n-slide, and with my dad on the 4 wheeler/tracter. I know she's having a great time. I just feel a little bad about it.

the sacrifices we make. hah! life feels like one big sacrifice at this point. i have become quite the misanthrope throughout this process. i find that i have little patience for my fellow man. this is not healthy. i have neighbors who throw nightly parties, and part of me loathes them for making a racket at 3:30 in the morning, and another part of me wishes I could be that carefree. crap crap crap.

I'm 30 and I've got two kids I've hardly been seeing because I've been studying for this thing so I feel your pain lilnoelle. Add that to the fact that I totally bombed a block of UW questions today after I thought I'd levelled out at 65-70%.

Fun times...fun times.

30, with a toddler and a very pregnant wife. I haven't missed a milestone or gestational diabetes q YET! 😀

You'll get a lot of low numbers here, out of selection bias. Young 'uns are usually pretty proud of how young they are, for some reason.

Sure, feel free to add the poll 🙂

btw, wow, some people as young as 22 taking the test. You guys finish undergrad college in 3 years or something?
Done.

Hey, I'm proud of being the oldest person who has posted in this thread so far. Hopefully all the really old fogies will come out of the woodwork now that we have a poll. 😉

🙂 Aww Overfiend and Prowler are somewhat close to me in age!...I knew I liked them...lol

I ...am....28 🙂 I like my age! 🙂

33, three kids (one dx w/ALL right before acceptance letter), 1 wife, 1 day post-step, current CAGE 3+ (No guilt). I'll probably be back down to CAGE 0 in a week or so.

I'm digging that there are some "experienced" folk out there who aren't afraid to say so. 😀

I'm 30. I went straight from undergrad to do my PhD, then to med school. I finished MS2 last year and have been doing a research year (plus step 1). I am back on the wards this fall and graduate in 2010. I have 2 kids at home as well (2, 6).

I'm 41, but certainly don't feel like it.

Balancing a life and study with a 12 yo, 7 yo, and spouse is a challenge; luckily, they have been great! Taking Thursday evening off this week to celebrate our 16th anniversary.

I'm 30. Worked in the biotech industry for a few years after undergrad, went to grad school and got a Masters, then med school.

I'll be a month shy of my 43rd birthday. As an inspiring friend said, I can be 45 and a doctor or 45 and not a doctor.

^^ 20? wow. What, were you some kind of genious in undergrad and finish college way earlier?

Nope.

Over here we do not have "college". We have six years of Med. School plus one year of internship.

hmmm, you may be me. or vice versa. either way, our stories are identical. as least as much as you've stated above.

30...with 6 kids... Ages 5,4,4,3,2,1. Man did I miss them the month before step 1. We all went to chucky cheese to celebrate Dads step 1 score.
