Okay guys for some reason when I do a search for NYU I got ne results...

Anyway I need some help. I have not filled out a FAFSA form yet and I just got into NYU. I have no clue about how to get loans or anything... Can you guys ppleaeaassee help me out?

Will I be able to receive the money in time? Classes start in 3 weeks!

Also did people have the orientation yet? I'm totally clueless right now.

I would really suggest that you contact your financial aid office.

Not to alarm you, but our (tufts dental) financial aid deadline was late spring (may 1st i believe). If you haven't done any paperwork, I don't think you'll be getting any favorable loans through financial aid this year. Come to think of it, our bills/tuition needed to be paid in full by August 1st or else we lose our spot in the D'11 to people on the waitlist.

whoops, I missed that you've just been accepted. If that's the case, that probably means that you were on the waitlist originally? I believe you have a few weeks to get everything done so I would urge you to call your financial aid office.

You need to get on things IMMEDIATELY if you want any chance of getting loans. But definitely call the financial aid office, I think they'll have some kind of emergency loan through the school. It might not be much, but it'll help.

ok, so 1. Fill out the fafsa. Doesn't take long.
2. go to HESC.com and fill that out (it's a mandatory New York state form thing and it's required for students going to school in NY to get a loan.)
3. Call NYU to get their school code. You'll need it when filling out the above mentioned.

Good luck. Alsok, if you haven't started getting your medical records and titers to prove your immunizations, get on that too.

"Signed" the FAFSA on Saturday but from what they Financial Aid office told me is that I have to wait until the FAFSA is processed before I can aply for a Governemtn PLUS loan at hesc.com. But which part is mandatory? The TAP grant thing?
