Not usually. The glorious 104% is = 94% as far as what actually shows up on your transcript, but you get the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing you did awesome, for whatever consolation that is worth.

OP obviously missed that thread a week ago about that guy who had 4 majors in college and passed every class with A's....while doing crazy research and being a bad*** in general. I will never gloat on SDN after reading that. Passing a basic bio course with a 104? Come on. Hit 40+ on the MCAT and then come back to rub it in op.

Nope. Not sarcasm. You're a genius Fakhter! 104% in BIO 101! That's an incredible grade that hardly anyone could get. Yep. 104% in BIO 101! 104% That's so breathtaking. Dermatology is too easy for you. Aim for all degrees. (MD/PhD/DO/JD/MBA/DBA)
Course number means nothing, as what is "bio 101" at one school could be the first course in the sequence for bio majors, while at another school it could be "bio for non-majors" or some such. The former would count for your med school pre reqs, the latter would not. As long as it is the "pre-med" course, whatever that happens to be at your school, the course number doesn't matter, and it is what you should be taking for med school.

Sarcasm. Friendly advice: If you haven't gathered already, people are turned off by somebody creating a thread about how well they did in a class. By all means post it on your fridge, tell your grandma, buy yourself a dinner at chucky cheese. But dont post that here and expect a bunch of strung out premeds (many who are in the middle of the app cycle) to be thrilled. It does not prove anything, what matters for admissions is your overall GPA, mcat and ECs. Congratulations, but remember next time do like the rest and utilize the humblebrag. The Bio 101 at my school is for non-science majors....The other bio class for bio major on the other hand.....(shivers) I remember the first test was on 10 chapters
