oh my--I took the first one as well. HORRID. Let's say with this score, I'll be fit for orderly school... or Professional Transport Aide Academy. Not funny, I know; I am so depressed.

I WILL GO OUT ON A LIMB AND GIVE MY SCORE. A WHOPPING 20. Yes, 20...it would have helped if I had finished all the sections. Let's just say, April may be unrealistic for me. :scared:

Anyone else have comments?

I just took my first full length today, cant wait to see how much studying as paid off. I'll keep u updated..By the way how did you do on your diagnostic?

You can check your score by comparing your answers (if you circled them in your test booklet) to the answers online.

"...Whom the Gods would destroy they first make mad..."
i received a 26, i graduated a few years ago and am now humbled... i have been taking notes on the kaplan book to try to build up my depleted knowledge base... i planned to take it in aug... i would love to take it in april, however i am just catching up with my notes this week and have not completed the assigned problems yet... i do not have the knowledge-base to progress to the questions yet (i'm starting the review questions today 😱 ...)

also utilizing the ek audio osmosis tapes... and taking my bike off some sweet jumps to prepare...

cheers

20... i don't put much validity in its poor/good correlation to my knowledge base, being there were quite a few that i used deductive reasoning... w/o understanding of the problems mechanics... the gods i, must hate orgo to be posting this much today...

cheers

First of all, after having taken Kaplan, the MCAT, and having not done very well, I have to say that Kaplan was a horrible prep for me. It works great for other people, but not for me...i think my diagnostics went like this: 24, 27, 27, 26, 29 ...my strongest word of advice:take advantage of the fact that they give you access real AAMC tests and make time to take them-that is the only way I am studying this time around, and so far my diagnostics have been 30, 29, 33- IMO, Kaplans tests were much much more quantitative while AAMC is way more conceptual, not nearly as much calculations. Also, kaplan tends to focus on whatever topics you are convering at that time in class-the real mcat obviously draws from all topics. Basically, i got to the real MCAT, not having taken any of the AAMC practice tests and was amazed at how totally different it was from Kaplans tests. So, in conclusion, your crappy Kaplan diagnostic scores ,IMO, are not very reflective of the real thing-take the AAMC practice test for a much more reliable prediction.

I went up 9 points from my diagnostic to first Kaplan FL. I was pleased. I've taken FL #2 and #3 as well and I scored 11 points higher than my diagnostic on those.

Good luck!

I'm taking the Kaplan class right now. We're about to have FL 2 on the 18th.
Diagnostic: 24
FL #1: 28
AAMC Practice Test 8: 28

I did, however, find that the AAMC Test was way more conceptual than the FLs that Kaplan gives.

My score went up ten points between my first Kaplan full-length and the half-length diagnostic. Some progress is attributable to my current enrollment in physics 2, other progress is credited to practicing verbal and being more familiar with MCAT format.

I will be taking a free practice test this Saturday at TPR this weekend (even though I am a Kaplan student). And I will be taking a couple AAMC practice items (probably 8 and one other) next week. It will be interesting to see how my scores compare.

I got a 26 (PS 10 V 7 and BS 9) on the Kaplan FL 1 this past Sat. I finished the PS and BS section half an hour early, maybe I would of done better if I were to pace myself, with about 6 weeks left is that 30 still attainable :scared: ?

WHOA...how on earth are you finishing Kaplan's PS section 30 min early?? Those sections are BRUTAL.

My first Kaplan full length score scared the hell out of me. I scored a 21! After reviewing the material that i did not get right, It became obvious to me that it was still way to early to begin freaking out. I buckled down and scored much higher on subsequent tests and I am sure you will as well. ...on a different but related note, has anyone found that the KAplan practice passages (specifically the PS and Verbal) do not accurately reflect the types of questions asked on the real MCAT? I am planning on taking the exam in April and recently started taking practice AAMC tests. I have found those to be (i don't want to say easier) but more managable. I'd love some feedback from ya'll. Thanks a lot and happy studying> Jeff

I had the same "success" (7, 7, 7) with my first kaplan full length. I heard, as well, that the AAMC tests were more manageable and plan on doing one soon. Please let us know. I hope the rest of the full lengths reflect improvement, I really wanted to take this monster in April, but now I'm afraid that's not a wise decision. 😡

I'm taking the Kaplan course now. I have found the AAMC tests more managable, especially the PS sections. I didn't really have a problem finishing the sections, whereas on the Kaplan tests, I had to bubble in almost an entire passage worth of questions. However, it does provide some good practice. I'd say practice with Kaplan for the next couple weeks, and then break into the AAMC 7 and 8 tests, as I heard those are more reflective of current MCAT format.

I finished that early (20min on PS and 30min on BS) bc I didnt read the passages unless i had to. I had the mindset that I wasnt going to finish so I tried to do everything as fast as I could, and when I reached 77 I thought there was more but their wasnt, so I went back and changed some answers(which I advise against). Should we be focusing more on content or practice now??

I got a 25 on the Diagnostic, and a 27 on the first full length. We have our next FL next weekend. The PS section on the first full length was brutal, but somehow i still got a 9.

I took AAMC 4 today and got 11PS/11V/9BS. I thought it was way easier than what Kaplan's been giving us (although I'd rather it be this way than the other way). Just keep up with the Kaplan material, and start practicing with the AAMC stuff.

It has been established that the Kaplan PS section is much more calculation based compared to the MCAT PS sections. thatks for the input...but I am curious as to what people think about the kaplan BS sections as they compare to the real deal.....cheers and happy studying~J.V.

hey have u guys done with all the topics before taking the aamc tests, or just trying it out to see how you are
