Did anyone take Kaplan online? What did you think of it? Since I am living in Canada but taking the American DAT, I can't make it to the Kaplan lectures sinces I guess they are only offered in the US? What did you think of Kaplan online? Did it prepare you for the actual DAT? Thanks.

I didn't take the Kaplan course, but I did get a hold of the online subject tests. So I studied from the Kaplan DAT blue book and tested myself with the subject tests, and found it to be adequate. So if you want to save some money...I'd recommend getting a hold of the subject tests and then buying other review material to supplement (ie, Cliffs, Destroyer, Topscore/Achiever, Princeton Review) instead of enrolling in the online Kaplan course.

I have taken the live course, but I think that the online is very similar.

The subject tests are only a small part of the entire program. There are a lot of online tests available: short Online Workshops, Subject Tests, Section Tests, Full-Lengths, etc. Their questions have been said to be closest to the actual tests, and students often do supplement certain areas with other resources as the other post suggests.

It also depends on your science background and level of self-motivation. The program does require students to move through a lot of material with the reading and the practice tests. The live course spanned about 2 months meeting twice a week.

The Kaplan Online also comes with the Kaplan in class version, and I thought the online components were the best part. The section tests that have explanations for all of the answers were where I learned most of the tricky information for the sciences, and how to do the confusing QR word problems.

The in class lecture is only really useful if you feel you need help sticking to a schedule, and want someone to walk you through some of the basics. Also, with the online class you get taped lectures that are similar to what you might get in the class version. Oh, you get all the same books too I think.
