Is it me or are the Kaplan QR problems at the end of the chapters (especially, chapters 3 and 4) really quite challenging? Also, on the real DAT are they going to be as tough?

they are pretty tough because the math sections themselves aren't detailed enough - I recommend going through a GRE book's math section.

Does the math section on the real DAT take as long as the Kaplan subject tests? I always thought I was good at math, and when I took the GRE I finished the math section with tons of time left over. But so far I have gone WAY over time on every Kaplan QR subject test I have taken.

yea from what i hear the subject tests are harder than the real one
Just took the real QR about two hours ago, and it was a bear! If you can work through algebra and word problems quickly, you shouldnt have too much difficulty. Where I got screwed was... well... I dunno really, but the Trig is hard if you dont know it and practice it much (like I didnt). You really wont see all that much crazy hard geometry problems or anything. I agree that getting the Kaplan GRE math book was a good buy and will give good practice on algebra, simple geometry, and word problems. Good luck.
