Constriction of the afferent arteriole that supplies blood directly to the glomerulus of a nephron woud most immediately affect the volume of the renal filtrate in which of the following tubular components of that nephron?
A) Loop of Henle
B) Proximal tubule
C) Collecting tubule
D) Bowman's capsule
The answer is D.
I know that Bowman's capsule comes first and the constricted arteriole would most immediately affect the volume there, but I was really thrown off by the fact that they ask for a TUBULAR component. In my eyes, the "tubular" components begin with the proximal tubule. Is every part of the nephron considered "tubular" despite the fact that Bowman's capsule is more of a cup?
