Anyone know of any good technical manuals for setting up a lab?

There's plenty of good texts on the theory/interpretation of physiological data, but I feel like my knowledge of "how things work" is sorely lacking. All the folks I've worked with just kind of picked it up over the years from various sources, word of mouth, etc. but I figure there has to be some kind of guide out there on things like lab interface cards, A/D boards. What the different equipment needed is, how it works, what its doing, etc. Maybe just knowing how to set the dials on a Coulbourn rack is enough to get by, but its wholely unsatisfying for the academic mind;)

In my limited experience there is usually there is availble training from colleagues.

or, in the case of physio, most hardware/software vendors will offer training with purchase.
