I have two questions: (i am applying this coming cycle, btw)
1) I plan on taking an ASL class this summer and learning German on Rosetta Stone, mainly out of interest.
So, should I add that I'm passionate about learning those two languages and why on my application for interest/hobbies?
2) Is there a section that allows you to add the amount of hours spent volunteering, shadowing, etc.? I know its quality over quantity but didn't know if hours were important and have to be added on the application.

I have two questions: (i am applying this coming cycle, btw)
1) I plan on taking an ASL class this summer and learning German on Rosetta Stone, mainly out of interest. Reasons: I am hearing impaired and have never learned ASL. I really want to pursue learning ASL and eventually become certified to interpret. Also I was born in Germany and have strong heritages to the country so I want to learn the language or at least understand it.
So, should I add that I'm passionate about learning those two languages and why on my application for interest/hobbies?

1) A future plan will add little to your primary application. I suggest you save it for a Secondary prompt that asks your intentions prior to matriculation if you've begun the learning process by then.

2) Yes. You'll also be asked for dates of involvement, location, and for a contact who can attest to your participation, as well as a description of the activity, your role, and any impact, if you want to share it.
