I just have last minute questions from 2000 biochem exam.
Could you help me find answers? I really appreciate it.

185. A slight detachment of the retina results in a decrease of length from the optical center and the subject therefore exhibit,

1. near sightedness
2.far sightedness
3. stabismus
4.nystagmus

104. Which of the following substances is the predominant source of ATP at moderate levels (greater than 20minutes of aerobic exercise) of muscel activity?
1. Amino acids
2. Fatty aicds
3. Carbohydrates
4. Protein

-there was a similar question from pilot exam, except the length of exercise was 60 minutes and the answer was fatty acids.
What is the point of this question? have any clue?

Good luck for everybody!

Here's another:

"For this one, the patient would be nearsighted as a result of a decrease of the optical center."

I thought it would be far sighted. If you move the retina forward a far source will be focused on the retina with out accomadation, but a near source will be forcused behind the retina. Thus the person is farsighted. A long eye ball is nearsighted, and short one is farsighted. I thought this injury was essentially making the working length of the eye ball shorter by moving the retina forward and thus the person would be far sighted since a near source would be focused behind the retina.
