Not sure that you picked the most representative NBME to guage yourself but you are probably in good shape to pass, but not to kill the step. Make sure you practice doing problems in a timed situation -- the paragraphs in the real thing can be much longer so you might find yourself rushed at times. And try to sleep well a night or two before the exam.

For my last week, I think I spent like 5 days going over First Aid one last time. Skimmed through some anatomy diagrams. Kept on going with qbank every day.

And I'd suggest relaxing the day before, or at least the evening before. Just go see a movie, dinner with friends, something to take your mind off of it. I say this b/c there was a thread a few months ago from someone who stressed himself out bigtime like right before the test, and his score reflected it. And, similarly, my MCAT score went down from my estimated scores when I crammed the night before, but my Step 1 score went up after I relaxed the prior night.

All anecdotal evidence, I know, but it's something I think is important.

The danger though is you only hear about the extremes on SDN. Most of the people who study right up to the test don't psych themselves out too bad. Whether it was productive use of time depends on the person, what they chose to study that day, and the particular test they got.

good advice all around, and thanks 🙂
i think i will spend the next 4-5 days crawling through f/a one last time and knock out some q's as i go to stay fresh..
and the day before i plan to memorize the g-protein page lol..
i like the concept of going through f/a once more, nothing is worse than the feeling of "aaaargh i know where it is on the page but i cant quite remember the right answer"
i feel that way alot 😳

law2doc, why did you say that form 1 isnt the best indicator of score? for all the research i could muster it seemd the most average, with 2 being too easy and 3 too hards, and 4 coming in in the middle...

I think some people on this forum have found that form 1 overpredicted their score.

Test 3 is hard, but I think the score it gives you is very accurate.

That sounds like a perfect plan.

One thing that I did which I thought was kind of helpful... during the last few days up to the exam, I wrote out a little cheat sheet (it had lots of quickie minutiae that I figured had a strong chance of popping up... brachial/sacral plexus injuries, biostat/behavioral terms, micro d.o.c.-list... etc).

I used it mostly during my lunch break (it was supposed to be for my mini-breaks in between blocks... but on exam day, I ended up using these breaks looking up answers in first aid... 😀 lol )

Best of luck!
