I didn't see one started so I thought I would give it a go. I received my acceptance letter today and am very excited. I am leaning favorably towards LECOM-B since I absolutely love PBL!!
...check out the SGA website in my sig.
Congrats everyone! 🙂
I'm really leaning towards LECOM-Br right now, I have a friend there that really loves it. Stupid question, do we need to get in touch with the school before December 14 or is our spot automatically reserved until then?
What's everyone's thoughts on actually attending? I am prob going to wait till the Dec. 14th deadline, but I am leaning very favorably towards LECOM-B
Hey, you think its too late to apply to LECOM? I only got a 25 R MCAT (10 V, 8 B, 7 P). I'm trying to get in all my stuff by tomorrow!
Ooooh...I can hang out in a "Class of..." thread now.
I am also waiting it out, but am leaning heavily toward LECOM-B. I have been to the SGA site quite a bit and it's very cool (although I keep getting a line error message...can someone fix that?).
Congrats to everyone and hope to see you all there!
Bumpety bump bump...
Any new classmates?
I haven't posted in a while but decided to after reading a few posts here. I am currently a 4th year at LECOM-B whom is doing ortho next year in ohio. Thought I might serve to answer any Q's you guys/girls might have about rotations, how the match is going thus far for us 4th years, where to rotate and more importantly where not to, tips on studyin for boards, etc. There seems to be quite a few questions on other threads about the match for us 4th years so I though I might drop what I know. I can't give specifics but will post what I know if I get any Q's. Good luck and congrats!
Im confused are you already matched into ortho for next year? How do you feel about thee clinical years so far and the hospitals you rotated at? Was it hard to set up your rotations initially?
Anybody start a facebook group?
I just did. Merry Christmas!
Thanks I found it earlier, just did a little searching!😀
Hey Jim,
Will you be sending your deposit to LECOM-B or have you decided yet? I think I'll end up going..
🙂
Not quite 100% sure yet, NYCOM looks awfully good😕
I'll be making my decision by end of the day tomorrow though😱
In regards to sending in the deposit, does anybody know if it has to be check or can we credit card?I don't have my acceptance letter on me, also does it just have to be postmarked by the 14th or received by then?
Thanks
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it has to be received by the them by Dec. 14th. The letter reads "This fee is due in the Office of Admissions by December 14, 2007." Nowhere in my letter does it read how to pay the fee...I would assume check since it doesn't have credit card information on the form, but I could be wrong. I will be sending mine out tomorrow. Good luck Jim!
Congrats! Sucks to lose that much money at Xmas though...I still have lots of presents to buy and no money 🙁
Oh well, at least I have a spot!
It does suck to lose that money this time of year. Christmas will be a sad situation, especially since I just started a job a month or so ago and my first $1500 went toward that deposit. But it feels damn good to have an acceptance and a plan.
Jim - I'm glad you're joining us. It's good to have met someone else in my class. 😀
I agree👍
Where did you end up finding a job? If I remember right you were trying to find something for the year.
I'm working for a state university as a research assistant in the psychology department. It's a good fit for me. I've enjoyed it so far. How are you keeping busy until school starts?
Its official....I just got word that my deposit was received!!!!👍
As a member entering the class of 2012, what recommendations do current students have about extra-curricular activities. I know SGA is endorsed heavily around here but what is the best way to get involved?
What other types of organizations are offered at LECOM-B that you think are the most advantageous as far as really learning the ropes, looking good on a CV for residency, helping you get involved with the school outside of the rigorous academics and the like?
Thanks for any input.
At the interview they gave us a list of all the clubs at the school. I would check that out. Most of the clubs stay very active with a variety of activities around the community.
