Aren't you supposed to be working!😛
I am. We have a severe lack of patients tonight though...so, here I sit, bored and playing on SDN...
Actually, I just missed you guys. Happy Mother's Day, btw!
Thanks!! My son (5 y.o.) just walked in the office and saw your avitar! He is a big Mario fan so I had to show him who Dr. Mario is and I found this funny....
This seems like a bunch of bored interns!

Digit, Kate.......sad really, really sad....jealousy is a sad thing...
It is not my fault everyone likes me best, I am LauraDO, they can't help themselves
I used Quest, and I'm afraid for when that bill comes because apparently they had to send out to a special lab for the PCP and Marijuana. I don't even want to know how much this all will be. As it is, my physical was part of my 'deductible' so I already owe a crap load. We just have to remember this when we are physicians and on the ordering end, tests are expensive and insurance dosn't always cover everything.
Kate,
The lab in which I had my 10-panel done and 4 titers sent to (in Chicago) charged my insurance $1855 - BCBSIL agreed to pay less than half of it and I'm not responsible for anything. My old insurance wouldn't pay that much, I'm sure.
So, yeah it depends on what your insurance covers but the charges can be quite high. 🙁 Good luck with getting as much covered as possible!

So I just called the LabCorp in Tampa, FL and they said that out of pocket, a 10 panel drug screen is $265.
Labcorp can bite me. I am so done with them. I'm going to get my pcp to write me an outpatient order and get them done at a local hospital...they at least include the tricyclics in their 10 panel...
Do you think it'll be less at the local hospital? Seems like hospitals by tradition are overpriced on everything...
So...anyone wanna share a house...if we split it with another couple it'd be $1250 each!!! This is awesome!

No pool though!
I cannot focus on this dumb gene therapy paper, or my final that's due tonight, or my final tomorrow. I'm just checked out!
Ok, Kate and Laura...
focus, focus, focus! (while slapping your foreheads) 😉

You want the truth...you can't handle the truth.......ahhhhhhhhhhh😱😱😱
Ha, do you really want to share a house with my husband, me and our three kids! Better yet, do you want to share a house with just the three kids (my husband and I would find another place)?
Ok, Kate and Laura...
focus, focus, focus! (while slapping your foreheads) 😉
Wait, I think digital has kids too! 😀
I thought he did also, boy would that make for a fun household! Anyone else want to join us?
Kate, your kitten is adorable! I want one now!😉
Wait, I think digital has kids too! Maybe his plan was just the opposite-you and your honey stay with his brood while he gets another place. 😀

Dear LECOM Students:
The LECOM Administration presented the option to the Student Government Association to maintain the current benefits in the LECOM Student Health Insurance Plan with an increase in the yearly rate or to maintain the current yearly rate and change the benefits/deductibles to the plan. The SGA surveyed the students and by a vote of 2 to 1, the students wanted to maintain the current yearly rate although it will change the policy copays and deductibles.
The following changes will be made to the LECOM Student Health Insurance Policy in order to maintain the current yearly rates for the plan:
Office visits copay from $10.00/Primary $10/Specialist will be increased to $20.00/Primary $40/Specialist
Add $250/$500 in-network deductible (currently everything is covered at 100%) and $500/$1,000 out-of-network deductible, 8/20 co-insurance to a maximum of $1,500/$3,000 (currently $250/$500 - 80/20 out of network, 80/20 co-insurance to a maximum of $1,500/$3,000)
Current prescription drug copay from $5 generic copayment /$20 brand copayment Mandatory Generic to $10 generic copayment /$15 formulary brand copayment/$40 copayment brand by choice non-formulary, mandatory generic. These are for a 31-day supply at the retail level. Mail order copayments double the retail copayments for a 90-day supply.
THESE CHANGES WILL TAKE PLACE ON AUGUST 1, 2008 FOR ALL MEDICAL STUDENTS IN ERIE AND FLORIDA, AND PHARMACY STUDENTS IN FLORIDA.
THESE CHANGES WILL TAKE PLACE ON OCTOBER 1 FOR ALL ERIE PHARMACY STUDENTS.
THESE CHANGES HAVE BEEN PRE-APPROVED BY HIGHMARK IN ORDER TO KEEP THE RATES AT THE CURRENT AMOUNT....
I'm not quite sure where this "survey" thing came from because I certainly never saw it.... but appaently the student body elected to keep the same yearly rate for insurance and pay more out-of-pocket when you use it. It doesn't affect me because I rarely go to the doctor. I have to be near death to go see one, and even then I generally have to be dragged kicking and screaming. For those of you who make frequent visits, however, I wanted to make sure that you get to look at the new changes in case you want to investigate other opportunities. Here's the email:
Thanks scpod. That's really helpful. That's pretty much the plan I have now...pretty much the same price too...we'll probably wind up on my wife's insurance anyways, once she gets a job...
Anyone know any dentists in Bradenton 😉? I've got a big list, but we want connections! 😀

Hi scpod,
Do you know how much is the health insurance premium for a student? The coverage that will go into effect in August doesn't sound too bad actually. I might get the insurance offered by the school. I need to buy health insurance for me and my wife. I looked at a very very high deductible insurance for $140 /month for both of us. But it has a 10K deductible. If our school insurance plan is pretty cheap, then I will get that and for my wife, I will buy a different plan.
Also, anyone looking to get Florida kidcare for their kids? I wanna apply to the kidcare program but I think you need a Florida address before you can apply.
I have missed coming to this forum.
Take care all.
For you: $1008 for six months.
For your spouse: $1428 for six months.
Kidcare from the state of FL for the kids is really, really cheap.
For Kidcare don't you have to meet some low income requirement?
