It's not the clothes that I have a problem with, it's the extra time. I understand that it's not that bad, but the little things add up. Really, I don't dress slopy, I usually wear jeans and a nice top to classes. If I need to worry about ironing, and matching, then if I'm dressed nice I have to make sure my hair is done nice and I have make up on, and I'll have to do more shopping. These things just take time that I don't have. I really don't see the reason for the dress code. We are not juveniles, and we don't need to be taught how to dress. Dressing differently does not change ones perspective on their classes, and the extra time required will actually take away from somewhere, either studying or time with my family for me. Not to mention, once in residency, you mostly live in scrubs. Really, this is something that I need to consider when I go for my interview because as a parent with very little free time as it is, this is definately going on my con list for the school.
