I guess I'll start this off with my stats.. As of right now I am a Junior (about to be a senior) at LSU and I'm sitting at a 3.72 oGPA as a Bio Major and a 3.63 sGPA. My DAT scores are 21 AA / 20 TS / 21 PAT. I have never made a C but have a couple W's. I have ~100 volunteer hours through my pre-dental society and through another organization. I have ~80 shadowing hours with 2 general dentists. The majority in a rural setting b\c I wish to practice rural dentistry. I have also logged around 1400 work hours over the past 3 years. I have 3 LOR's (2 science and a dentist.. all should be pretty good) that will be combined with a pre-dental committee evaluation and letter.

I am a Louisiana resident and only wish to go to the LSU dental school but obviously only applying to LSU would be stupid. As of right now these are my school choices.

LSU
LECOM
Temple
West Virginia
Tennessee
VCU

As I said I really only want to go to LSU but you don't always get what you want. I want to try to stay in the south with Temple being my reach school. I also don't want to go to any private schools that will cost 350k+ so yeah.. Any incite on what schools to add or delete from this list would be greatly appreciated!

ohh hahaha wow we must of posted this thread at the exact same time!

you can take LSU off the list... eliminate my competition... haha jk jk! jk!

so many LSU kids here. I see you two are applying there as well. LSU has a certain number of spots for Arkansas kids. I will be applying there

No advice!? Come on guys!! I'm planning on submitting today

what about Louisville or Oklahoma? I think you can get into Temple with your stats

I was thinking about Louisville as well and I couldn't find Oklahomas tuition and fees on its website so IDK how much it cost lol.

I'd recommend adding Louisville and Kentucky. Louisville is very OOS friendly. I didn't apply to UK so I don't know about them; but they're close!

I added Louisville and deleted Tennessee. I might re add Tennessee though.. The stats stated they were very OOS friendly but then I realized they guarantee 20+ spots to arkansas residents so that might be why the stats say that..

Anyone know how many non-arkansas people they accept?

I think Louisville also guarantees a certain number of Arkansas students. Between 10 and 15. At least that's what my advisor told me.
