Each of the follwoing is found in retrodiscal pad except:

1- elastic fibers
2- venous plexus
3- collagen fiber
4- hyaline cartilage
5- loose connective tissue

if local anesthetic was deposited in pterygopalatine fossa, which nerve will be anesthetized

1- V1
2- V2
3- V3
4- facial
5- vagus

which of the following is the nerve innervation most thenar muscles

1- ulnar
2- median
3- radial
4- axillary
5- musculocutanuos

which type of connective tissue is found in pulp:

1- loose
2- dense
3- mucoid
4- adipose
5- elastic

The Thenar Muscles

  • They are chiefly responsible for the movement known as the opposition of the thumb.
  • The pressure that the opposed thumb can exert on a fingertip is enhanced by the reinforcing action of the adductor pollicis and flexor pollicis longus muscles.

  • The thenar muscles are supplied by the recurrent branch of the median nerve.

in these choices the best option is distofacial as the smallest cusp is distal

1)removal of ant pitatuary gland result in
a.diabetes
b. loss of capacity to oxidise fat
c.loss of capacity to store sugar
d.increase sensitivity to insulin

d.increase sensitivity to insulin
its given in released exam packet i-f year july1982 in biochemistry section

the explanation is as; Growth hormone (GH), or somatotropin, stimulates cellular growth, mitosis, and differentiation, promoting overall tissue and organ growth. GH inhibits ageing via many ways (eg. it inhibits formation of free radicals). GH stimulates skeletal and tissue growth via the polypeptide growth factors – somatomedins (IGF-I, IGF-II), which are produced in the liver. GH also exhibits multiple metabolic effects:
·it increases lipolysis and fat utilization for energy (anti-insulin effect of GH)
·it promotes protein synthesis and deposition acting as a “protein sparer” (insulin-like effect of GH)
·it decreases use of glucose for energy, increases gluconeogenesis, and thus rises blood glucose level (anti-insulin effect of GH)

so if the ant pitutary is removed so it will not have anti insulin effect but has increased susceptibility to insulin as no more gorwth hormone will be released so no lipolysis and so more glycogen formation by the increased effect of insulin.

plz explain & correct me

swallowing is divided into 3 phases

1. buccal phase occurs voluntarily in the mouth

2.The pharyngeal phase occurs involuntarily when food enters the pharynx

3.The esophageal phase occurs involuntarily in the esophagus.

The medulla oblongata controls autonomic functions

Thanks

sorry i'm not vry sure abt th answers above, let sumone else too cum up wit th answers then we'l kno if they r rite or not
-articular disc is attached posteriorly to a region of loose connective tissue that is highly vascularized and innervated .this is known as th retrodiscal tissue or posterior attachment ,th other name for retrodiscal tissue is bilaminar zone or posterior atachment.
-i think crevicular fluid has iga since it is part of normal secretory immunoglobulin.

enamel is thickest where:-
it is thickest at DEJ underlying the cusp or cingulum so i think DEJ choice is most appropriate.

Infection of mandibular molar enters which space-submandibular space

Articular disc is most vascular at bilaminar zone.

crevicular fluid or sulcular fluid has IgG immunoglobulin
saliva has IgA

Can someone pls explain this to me, its from dental deck 06-07

in working side movement. the MB cusp of max 2nd molar passes through the facial groove of mand 2nd

how come its facial? I just dont get these movements! :scared:

INCISAL AND OCCLUSAL is same thing dear.
depends if you are talking about anterior or posterior teeth

for this question you may see the dental deck of dental anatomy card heading T-Terms(2006-2007)deck
question has embrasure as answer
at the back of card in the NOTES its given:
The largest incisal/occlusal embrasure is found between max canine and first premolar.
Take care.
happy studing🙂

the distolingual cusp of the right mand 1st molar is fractured by excessive contact with the opposing maxillary molar during right lateral movment . which is the most interference?

if V nerve is cut below medulla wat happens

a loss of sensation of pain same side
b loss of sensation of pain ipsilateral
c loss of propriocepion same side
d loss of sensation of propriception opposite side

aspiring dentis, I think the nerve that would be anesthetised in the pterygopaltine fossa is V2

I am confused about something, can someone pls tell me which muscles exactly prevent food from enrtring the nasopharynx?

thanks

The nerve which will be anaesthetised will be V2. The maxillary nerve starts from the trigeminal ganglion, travels through the cavernous sinus exiting the skull at the foramen rotundum to enter the pterygopalatine fossa where it gives off several branches to the mid face. Now when maxillary nerve block is given.
A needle is inserted just below the zygomatic arch midway between the coronoid and condyle of the mandible. It is inserted perpendicular to the skin until the pterygoid plate is felt. The needle is then withdrawn and guided anteriorly towards the eye to enter the pterygopalatine fossa. And also if hemorrhage of the maxillary artery wll occur it may lead to hematoma in the hard and soft palate..

I hope this wll help u..
