Thanks afistis!! I have b marked in my paper for Q 2 as well!! But not sure why...isn't pterygomandibular sling same as pterygomandibular raphe which is btw super constrictor and buccinator, not medial ptergyoid &...? So why it is not C???

I still do not get it!! Can someone please explain why pterygomandibular sling (raphe ?) is the interdigitations btw medial pterygoid & masster??
IS this correct?

You're confusing your terms. The pterygomandibular raphe is simply the line along which the superior pharyngeal constrictor and buccinator muscles meet. The pterygomasseteric sling refers to the idea that on each side, the mandible is "suspended" from the skull by the medial pterygoid and masseter muscles, which insert along the angle of the mandible on the medial and lateral surfaces.

Thanks, that helped a lot!!
Could you please tell me the answer to these as well:

3)Water will go from glucose to Nacl.Glucose remains as one unit whereas Nacl consists of two ions-Na and Cl.(me thinks)

4)Hypercalcemia should be the answer as hypothalamus or pituatary do not have any effect on parathyroid glands.Parathyroid glands produce PTH which is the main regulator of calcium metabolism.
The other choices infertility, reduced BMR and atrophy of adrenal cortex will occur as FSH,LH,thyroxine and ACTH are produced by the anterior pituatary under the influence of hypothalamus.Hope this helps!

plz answer this question--

mature pulp consists of which type of connective tissue--
1.dense

iam a bit confused with the term MATURE---does it mean aged pulp or pulp in fully developed tooth..can any 1 plz explain this.

thankyou very much.

one more--
periapical abscess of mandibular 1st premolar drains lingually into which SPACE--

1.sublingual space

Positive for 1 and 2.
3rd question is very controversial. I had to edit the post and delete my answer to it.

Thanks firasoblast!!
So can you tell me what is the most supero anterior position of condyles? Isn't it protrutsion? So why temporalis?
Doesn't temporalis only close and retrude the mandible???

each of the following situations correctly describe the myocardial infarection except
a)most acute MI caused by coronet artery thombosis
b)Acute MI is most com cause of death in developed nations
c)Pain from MI usually relied by vasodilator like nitroglycerine
d)Myocardial necrosis begine 20 -3- min aftercoronery artery thombosis

e road increase in diameter as it reaches the outer surface ,ratio from inside to outside surface is 1:2, so it diverges as it reaches the surface , but I can not understand the Q, if anybody able to explain then plz do it.

Doesn't temporalis only close and retrude the mandible???

I'd answer your question even that I see you had just posted it again in another thread!!

Centric relation is when the condyle is in the anterior superior position against the slopes of the articular eminences, regardless of any tooth to tooth relationship.
so mandible movement here is retrusion starting from rest position.

Thanks for the reply. So, condyles are in MOST superoanterior position in CR?
Do condyles move anteroinferior in in mandibular depression? what about in mandibular protrusion?

answer is C.
Pain from myocardial necrosis does not subside by nitroglycerine or any other vasodilator.
Necrosis after thrombosis starts at about 20-24 hours.

Thanks for the reply. So, condyles are in MOST superoanterior position in CR?

I think during intial stage of mandibular depression condyle just rotate beneath the articular disk and in further opening of the mouth it will translate with the disk , so it will move anteroinferiorly......... in protrusion they also move antero inferiorly, correct me if I am wrong

Is it just me or is it that some of the practice questions here are really strange and obscure?

Where are you guys finding these questions? And are these questions reflective of the actual difficulty in Part I?
