the sympathetic innervation to head and neck is distributed via:

1- blood vessels
2- facial planes
3- lymphatics
4- hyoid musculature
5- CN III, VII, IX and X

Postganglionic fibers from superior cervical ganglion travel via internal carotid artery to the head & neck region.
So I think the answer should be [1]-blood vessels

When water content is less means more of the solute particles & so more osmolarity. In the case of sweating more water is lost than other particles like sodium,Cl etc so more osmolarity .That is osmolarity is increased but volume [more of water] is decreased. So I believe the ans for Q1 is [1]
2. for this I think the ans should be [2] since most of the substances are reabsorbed in Prox.con.tubule.
If I am wrong please correct, thanks
This is mentione d very clearly as the osmolarity remains the same as water absorption keeps pace with Sodium

I have one doubt
in the decks it is mentioned that
-in a working side movment the mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary 1st molar passes through the lingual groove of the mandibular 1st molar

and then in the second line it is mentioned that
- in a nonworking side movment the the mesiobuccal cusp of the maxillary 2nd molar passes through the buccal groove of the mandibular 2nd molar

I think something is wrong in this can somebody expalin to me why its like this?

thanx in advance

hey guys, answer is petrotympanic ...it is only one lying in temporal bone.
jugular- between temporal and occipital
infraorbital- between frontal and maxilla

I would like to correct that the answer is Infraorbital foramen,as it is an extension of the Infraorbital canal into the facial aspect of the maxillary bone. As for the petrotympanic is a fissure is a part of squamotympanic fissure located b/w spine of sphenoid, mandibular fossa and tympanic plate of temporal bone upto ant. margin of ext. acoustic meatus . as for other choices jugular foramen is formed by jugular process of occipital bone & jugular jugular fossa of petrous temporal.

difference between primary max. second molar and permanent first molar?
1)primary tooth has much narrower measurement at CEJ compared to its contact area
2)permanent tooth has rhomboidal occlusal outline
3)cusp of carabelli

answer

Correct answer would be
1)primary tooth has much narrower measurement at CEJ compared to its contact area, as the cusp of carabelli like 5th cusp is very much present on pri max 2nd molar, and the occlusal outline is also rhomboidal.

submandibular is ans.

I would just like to know the reason of submandibular gland being affected leading to decreased volume, is the primary cause of xerostomia. As the secretory cells of the parotid gland are most radiosensitive and radiation causes inflammation and vascular damage in the parenchyma.
A decrease in salivary flow can occur within the first week of radiation, with the saliva becoming more viscous and acidic. There are also changes in the electrolyte and protein content of the saliva which in turn affects the microbial flora and the propensity for tooth decay. The degree of damage depends on how many of the major glands are in the radiation field and the damage increases with total dose of radiation. The initial volume, particularly of the parotid glands, will also affect the degree of xerostomia post-radiation.
