Hey everyone! Lets make each other feel better (or worse) about grades..why was your worst undergraduate grade and in what class?

Ill go first...freshman year I got a C- in a biology lab because I hated the teacher and how he taught...now I'm punching myself for doing that 😛

Your turn!

Your turn!

I got an A once...i was only 0.1123 points away from an A+..I was depressed for months

but really it was a C+ lol :laugh:

C+ in a freshman year writing prerequisite for missing 1 too many classes (down from a B+). Pretty pissed at myself especially after figuring out it cost me Cum Laude come graduation time! Never slept through class again (ok, maybe one or two more times)

I got a C+ in a pretty nasty Genetics class. Class had three different professors teaching (each taught a portion that they were experts in), and the killer - population genetics. That stuff is just not for me.

C in multivariable calculus due in part to pulling an allnighter and learning that my grandfather passed away as I was walking into the test 🙁

My worst grade has been a B in English II. My professor accused me of not citing the point that enemy combatant were detained at Gitmo. I thought if you had lived in the US for the past decade it was obvious. But no, he gave me a C on a term paper that dropped my grade.

C+ in a Ethics Class, 0.5 points / 1000 away from the next grade and my professor didn't give it to me. On top of that, they marked me down for more absences than I actually had, worth more than 0.5 points :/

2 Bs in Bio 2 (plants) and Chem 1. Both were freshman year.

2 Cs my first semester. Did not come into college with the right mindset haha.

One was in an elective course I signed up for because it looked interesting. It wasn't until late in the semester that I learned that it was a weeder class for nursing, business, and psychology majors and had a class average of ~2.3. Whoops.
Other in an anthropology. Could not take that class seriously...

Three C's in college, all of them crucial components of my major. Super awesome.

I got an F in a stupid online intro to psychology class...just stopped doing it and forgot to withdraw. I also got a C in calculus...like a 69.6% that rounded to 70% which is a C, and let me tell you, I couldn't have been more ecstatic with that outcome.

W in a History course on Magic (fortunately does not factor into GPA, really did not care for the class...)
B- in Biochem and PChem (redeemed myself with an A in a later course that integrated the two 😀 )

My first year back to school (I'm a nontrad), we had to design an experiment for Chem I lab in groups. My group made a bad assumption very early in the experiment, which carried through to the rest of it, and my lab TA graded very strictly, so much so that he gave us a 7%! No - I didn't leave off a digit - we got a 7/100 for something that counted for like 10% of our grade. I ended up with a B, and had to nearly ace everything in order to get that. Words cannot adequately express how pissed I was +pissed+

Got a 3.5 in Calc I 🙁

C
for Cell and Developmental Biology.

Numerous C+s and B-s...in high school. Those grades are now haunting my transcript. :[

+1. Being excited to go to college and taking advantage of my school's program to spend my senior year in a community college is the worst thing on my application.

If there are any high school kids out there considering it, DON'T DO IT. Community college is harder to get good grades in because nobody around you gives 2 ****s.

B+ in Traditional African Dance while studying abroad in Ghana.

Regrettably I got a B in analytical chemistry, hopefully I'll never need that class again

Ok everyone with b's ..thats not a bad grade so you're making me feel like crap 🙁 lol

I would like to hear what some of the worst undergrad grades current med students had that they overcame.

I can make you feel better! Had straight As in high school. Got into college. Almost half of my grades are Bs with a strawberry icing of 2 Cs (both Math and Engineering classes :/)

Oh yes you sure did the trick but those are some tough classes so chin up 🙂

C in intro bio. Was a .5% away from a B. hate that class, hate the teacher, grumpy old lady.

I also didnt really study either, whoops 😛

Organic 2 B-, there was an earthquake in Haiti and my grandfather, who now rest in heaven, was lost.

Worst grade was 78 i believe which is a B+ in Gr. 9 French. Never liked it but it was mandatory until Gr. 9 so I started slacking in my final year of French.

Haha true. I actually studied the hardest for my exams in those 2 classes but due to a combination of unavoidable events dropped a couple of letter grades. *shrugs*

One thing I have learned in undergrad so far is that grades matter but only to an extent. Your ability to do unique things with your life that you enjoy is much much more important!

I wish this was like twitter so I can favorite things lol like what you just said for example! I agree completely!

Yeah Texas I'm right alongside you in the 3.5 trenches. My worst grade was my first semester, received a 3.0 in Gem Cem.

B- my junior year of high school in a calc class.

I was feeling depressed about this earlier today.

You and I shall overcome this over the next few years. When do you plan on applying?

I will be applying during the next cycle, still have a few semesters to make my sgpa really shine. Here's to hoping we both make it! Cheers

got a B in biomaterials my senior year...studied a total of 3 hours right before the final and nearly flunked it.

As for grad school...🙁

B in biochem. I was .1 from an A and the worst part was that on the second test, I had a question right from the literature, but It wasn't the answer the professor wanted. If he had given me that point, I would have had an A 🙁 I was sad for months and am still sad 🙁

Look at all you gentle folk complaining of a single C or a B- as your worst grade. As for the one who got an F in a class from stupidly not withdrawing correctly - same here. But the worst I've done in a class I fully took? D in Cell Bio baby. Got an A in the retake tho. Maybe we should put up the difference in GPA between our best and worst semesters, just to liven things up a bit? delta 1.75 reporting.

Perhaps you missed my post of almost all B+'s in prereqs

B in 4 classes (12 credits)
B+ in 5 classes (14 credits)

🙁🙁🙁

B in Analytical Chemistry, worst 8 AM class ever.

F in an upper division philosophy class (metaphysics) I took my freshman year because it sounded interesting... but it wasn't. I ended up failing. I have no idea why I didn't drop the class even though I stopped doing the work.
