I am still waiting to be rejected or get an interview invite from the University of Vermont Larner. I called admissions, and they said they're interviewing through the end of this month. I have two acceptances and am waitlisted at one school, but would choose Larner over those options for a number of reasons. I already sent an update letter about a month ago. Should I send a letter of intent? If so, how will they know I am telling the truth when I say I have two other acceptances and 1 WL? I was planning on writing why I would choose Larner over other schools and why I think I'm a good fit there, but I'm not entirely sure what LOIs are supposed to include. Any advice would be appreciated!

A letter of intent is only meaningful at a school that has already interviewed you - at this point you are not eligible for admission without having reached the interview stage.
Take a deep dive into the 2 schools that accepted you and choose the one that best meets your goals

On that note, I did have another question. Is there any merit to sending a letter of intent after being waitlisted at a school, and is there any way to meaningfully communicate interest or add to your application/make it stand out on the waitlist?

Why do you want the one that WL’d you?

After interviewing at all three schools, I liked the WL school's curriculum more than the other two and observed that students received much more support in achieving their goals. All 3 schools were connected to robust research and community outreach/involvement, but the WL school was the only one with infrastructure that actually connected students to these opportunities rather than telling them to figure it out on their own. I've also already done research and shadowed at the WL school and really enjoyed my experience there.

That being said, I know a lot of people on the WL are interested in this school because of its curriculum and the fact that students seem to actually live out the school's mission, and most of them want to get off the WL, so I'm not sure that my saying so would make a difference? Although it probably wouldn't hurt?
