I have a 25% tuition scholarship from UT-Austin and so far nothing from UTSW. My TMDSAS first-choice is UTSW. Come Jan 20, I submit preferences for the match and that's my last chance to choose, as I come out of the match with only one offer. Early January, would it be effective and appropriate to ask UTSW, politely, if they could make this decision easier financial-wise?

Did you pre-match to both?

Then yes, it would be appropriate.

I didn't get scholarship info until sometime like march if I remember correctly and it ended up being ~10k per year. So they can be pretty late about it

Yes prematched both.

This is what I'm worried about. Very hypothetical, but what if UTSW in March would give me 50%, but now that I ask for 25% they only give me 25% total knowing that's all they need to do to be competitive.

Tuition is so low in Texas anyways. Would a total of $10,000 really sway your decision?

I would say don't ask for anything specific, just let them know you have a scholarship and would really like to choose them. You don't have "leverage" past your current offers (IMO).

Don't think so, I got the max scholarship they give after I had already accepted their offer of admission. I think they just have a bundle of money they have to give away

Who should this be addressed to? Admissions? Admissions Dean? Member of Adm Committee who contacted me personally to congratulate, said he was one who reviewed my file?
