So in SC where I am currently enrolled in pharmacy school...to get licensed you need 1000 hours form school and 500 hours from outside of school required rotations

I plan on getting licensed in NC when i graduate in 2014. THeir requirements states that you need 1500 hours from your school rotations, no outside hours are required, to appear on your graduate certificate is how it is worded i believe.

Since my school required hours will add up to over 1500 when i graduate will i get all of those or because i went to school in SC is my college only going to give me 1000 of them?

I just graduated from an SC school and got licensed in NC. I had the board of pharmacy send my intern hours to the NC BOP. I just had to mail in a form and a check for $5. I don't think it was really necessary, I think they would have accepted my rotation hours but I didn't want to delay and I thought $5 and the price of a stamp was worth paying to save me the trouble.

ok, great thanks!

I'm in my last year now and don't have all my 500 hours. I'm close though, so i just plan on doing some volunteering once im back home in NC finishing out my rotations later this year. I was just concerned incase i did not get all 500, but my everything im reading i'm getting that you jsut need 1500 from school for NC. I'll contact someone at my school or the BOP just to be sure.

Our school in Ohio wants us to get licensed in Ohio, not sure if its a requirement or just frowned upon if you don't (never asked because I planned up till now to work in Ohio).

Make sure you do contact that board and ask about the proper forms. Here, we have to fill out a statement of preceptor form within 30 days of the hours beginning, have the pharmacist sign it and send in, and also have a separate form for the hours log. A lot of students didn't know about the first form, and could only log 30 days worth of hours when they were due, and couldn't count the previous year's hours... So just be sure to check all forms.
