👍 Its cool to have another person from CA there! I am also interviewing on 2/19! This is my very first interview!!! I got a late start on the whole process and one of my LORs isn't even in yet (still waiting, its the DO one). By the way, HippieChick, are you going to the Oasis pizza thing? It sounds like fun and good way to relax a bit (I'll be a nervous wreck probably) Any others out there interviewing with us that day?
I'm a long time reader here on SDN (>1year), but never really post much. I've read the ENTIRE LMU-DCOM thread, Part I and the sequel, Part II. It took me several days to get through!
😛 This whole LMU-DCOM thing really has me excited though! It has quickly become one of my top choices. It reminds me a lot of my high school. It was new too, and in the middle of the mountains, but I decided to go there because everyone seemed so happy and friendly. It turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life!
Funny story for my interview call...
😆
I got the call from Janette (nicest lady!) on my cell phone while driving on the freeway. I thought it was going to be some sales person because it was a private number. I decided to pick it up anyway...'Hi, this is Janette and I'm calling you from the DeBusk Osteopathic school to invite you for an interview."
😱 I got so damn excited that I thought I would drive straight into the center-divider!
With one hand on the wheel and the other on my phone, watching my odometer go higher and higher from all the excitement (75...80...85!). I must have seemed awkward or lame over the phone, but I said something like "Obviously I'm very happy and excited about this, but I can't talk right now because I'm driving on the freeway". Mind you, I said all of this in a very calm voice.
She was so nice about it, asking me if she could call me back at a more convenient time! I asked her to call me back in 45 minutes. I hung up the phone and started screaming and slamming the wheel! My sister was sitting next to me, telling me I should have shown some of that excitement while she was on the phone! Way to make feel stupid sis!
😀
So I start thinking...oh no! I'm an idiot! This must have been the first time when somebody was actually rude enough to say, 'just call me back in 45 minutes, I can't talk now'. Needless to say, when she called back, I apologized 25 times for "earlier". She seemed to insist though that it was better for me not to get in an accident!
So thats my story and I'm sticking to it! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!
